Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the following is intended only as a general guideline.  For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your birth chart, placement of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.  

Pluto’s entry in the sidereal zodiac sign Sagittarius (Jan 28 – May 28)

One of the important planetary events of this year is the transit of the modern planet Pluto from the sidereal zodiac sign Scorpio to Sagittarius. It first occurs on January 28. Pluto stays in Sagittarius till May 28, and then with its retrograde motion returns to Scorpio and stays in Scorpio till November 28. After November 28, 2005 it will remain in Sagittarius for the following 14 to15 years (till February 2020).  Although it’s going to be in Sagittarius for only about 4 months before it returns to Scorpio, Pluto being the planet of transformation will certainly affect the matters related to Sagittarius in a big way. The drastic changes in our collective moral and religious perceptions are certainly going to be manifested in the way we never experienced before by Pluto’s transit in Sagittarius. This era (next 15 years) will be remembered as the period of religious revolution.  The way we have been used to deal with religions will no longer be our norms.  Although it’s very likely that some of the world religions will either become obsolete or transformed into other forms the religious or moral codes will be greatly influenced by our collective spiritual experiences. And in that sense a subtle but most effective transformation of world religions during this unique era of 15 years is likely to take us to a level where the norms solely based on spiritual experiences will dictate and guide our lives with new level of understanding. 

In scientific and technological areas lot of drastic changes and emerging new ideas will find their way into innovations and discoveries.  The scientific and technological growth rate will rise at a very rapid pace.  However, it will be the first time the scientific and technological research will be more focused in areas that will bridge the gap between the science and morality. The likely areas of research will be in biotechnology, medicine, spiritual healing, and life-force related activities. A new wave of philosophers with their new perspectives on living, in general, will certainly transform our world in next 15 years to a new level of understanding. 

On individual level for those who have Sagittarius ninefold ascendant should get ready for a brand new cycle of change, especially a very pronounced cycle if Pluto is a dominant planet in your birth charts. The changes that might occur would be very subtle and would deal with pretty much all aspects of your life including relationship, marriage, profession, surroundings, common perceptions and beliefs, and the way of living.

Neptune-Uranus ninefold opposition (Oct 29 – Jan 25)

If in your birth chart Neptune opposes or conjuncts Uranus, and if either of these planets is currently influencing your life via your current progressive chart, then you are very likely to be affected by this unique configuration. Depending on the strength of these planets and houses they occupy in your birth chart, you are going to have a sudden and a totally new and very unique experience in that particular field. Be ready to embrace this powerful and spontaneous experience. Some of the likely scenarios are unexpected move (change of residence), unexpected job change (or change of surrounding at work place), meeting a person who is going to influence your life in a very dramatic fashion, unexpected financial windfall, unexpected severe depression, finding your center that you were always wanting to, etc.  

At a collective level, the manifestation of Neptune-Uranus ninefold opposition will reflect in sudden change (either positive and negative) in relationship between USA and Russia (and countries of former Soviet Union) and magnificent advances in science and technology through innovations, inventions, and discoveries.

Saturn-Rahu ninefold sextile (and Saturn-Ketu ninefold trine) (Nov 11 – Jan 10)

If through your current progressive chart influence of either Saturn or lunar node is active and if Saturn is favorably positioned with respect to lunar nodes in your natal chart expect a very favorable time. Such positive events will be related to the affairs signified by the houses these planets occupy or aspects. For example if the seventh house is involved, expect a new and positive development in a relationship, or business partnership, or success in capturing the audience if you deal with masses. If eleventh house is involved November and December may financially prove to be rewarding months. 

On a collective level, this is a good period for European economy. It is also good for progress in technical fields (new innovations and discoveries) and religious reconciliation.

Uranus-Saturn ninefold opposition (Jan 7 – 11)

In general, Saturn-Uranus ninefold opposition is not good for those who have such opposition or square in their birth charts. In addition, if the planet Uranus or Saturn is affecting your life via your current progressive chart, then you might want to consider taking extra precautions in the areas which are affected by these planets as shown in your natal chart.  Such people should avoid taking any kind of risk at any cost during this period.  Such opposition can make things so miserable and difficult for you that most likely you are not going to forget them in your entire life. Staying low key is certainly the way to go.  Avoid any new ventures and postpone the matters that you want to begin till this period is passed. 

On a collective level, the United States of America, Russia or China may experience social or political turmoil at home as well as tensions rising among them. 

Pluto-Saturn quincunx (Jan 11 – 28)

For those who have quincunx, square, or opposition of Pluto and Saturn in their horoscope, and for those whose current planetary operating cycle is influenced by either of these planets are likely to experience a severe setback or turmoil in their lives.  Such quincunx can become a very strong force to destroy the current setting of your lifestyle due to misfortune or things beyond control and transform it to a totally new life setting which may or may not be desirable depending on the strength and positive influence of these planets in the natal chart. In any event it’s going to be a irreversible event.

On the collective level, expect another outbreak of violence and terrorist activities, a good possibility of natural as well as man-made calamities, and to some extent, war-like climate in some parts of the world. Tension between Israelis and Palestinians will remain unabated. Some of the east-European countries, Russia, and China may experience political as well as social turmoil.

Uranus-Rahu ninefold trine (Uranus-Ketu ninefold sextile)  (Jan 9-15)

Uranus-Rahu trine is going to be very favorable for those who have lunar nodes favorably placed in their natal charts with respect to Uranus.  If such placing is connected to the first house, second house, ninth house, tenth house, or eleventh house then expect monetary as well as power gains, promotions and improved prestige in professional and social fields.  The ideas that you always wanted to pursue but somehow could never get started….now is the time to follow that dream. You will distinctly notice and feel the positive energy flowing through you during this period.  It’s time to jump in and enjoy this period.

Neptune-Ketu ninefold trine (Jan 10-17)

For those who have well placed Neptune, and if she is in trine with any of the two lunar nodes, and are presently being influenced by any of these planets (Neptune, Rahu, or Ketu) through their current operating cycles, are likely to experience a very positive period. Rise in self confident, strong intuitive power, and in general feeling great about everything around are some of the symptoms that you are likely to enjoy.

Collectively on global scene, this period is very positive for Russia and China. Also, most of the technological areas are likely to make significant progress via inventions and discoveries. Spiritual and religious activities are likely to impart positive energy and create a very healthy atmosphere around us.

Mars-Uranus Square (Dec 29 – Jan 2)

These four-to-five days are going to witness Mars-Uranus square. Typically this square offers very unfavorable results with astonishing speed and without any notice.  For those who have such square in their birth chart, and if they have any one of these planets influencing them through the current progressive cycle need be extra careful. The best thing to do is to lay low key, not make any new commitment, and avoid taking any sort of risk. Also, experiences like a sudden incident of fire, or an accident, or missing or drowning of a child are the doings of this square.

On the world scene, expect some sudden outbreak of an undesirable happening, and strong possibilities of both natural and man-made calamities. The countries that are most likely to be affected during these four days would be the United States of America, Iraq, Pakistan, Palestine and Israel.

Pluto-Saturn ninefold square (Jan 17 – 22)

If in your birth chart Pluto makes square with Saturn, and if either of these planets is currently influencing your life via your current progressive chart, then you want to consider taking extra precaution in dealing with money matters, people at work, and especially with your adversaries. In general, this is the time to stay low key and not be aggressive. Be cautious and alert as much as possible.  Do not trust anybody during this period. 

On a collective level, Russia is likely to face with some serious challenges and perhaps sudden changes.  To some extent China is also going to have a similar experience. In the United States, the republic party may have to deal with an embarrassing situation.

Neptune-Saturn ninefold conjunction (Jan 8 – 12)

If you have either a Neptune-Saturn conjunction, square, or opposition in your birth chart, and if your current planetary operating cycle is influenced by either of these planets then you are likely to experience a subtle but serious financial or social setback or an unpleasant secret will be revealed to you. If you are planning to take a long distance (overseas) trip during this period, be extra careful of nasty surprises, or even being stranded in places you never dream of.

On the collective level, covert activities will be on rise. Possibilities of natural as well as man-made calamities are very likely. Places like Russia and China are likely to experience political and social turmoil. Non-democratic countries are likely to see shift of power from one faction (or dictator) to another. Media around the world may come under pressure and become defensive in their news reporting. Religious activities around the world will likely to appear more secretive than open. 

Mars-Pluto Conjunction (Jan 27 – 30)

Typically Mars-Pluto conjunction, which occurs about once every two years, offers very sudden and extremely undesirable result with astonishing speed.  For those who have such conjunction in their birth charts, and if they have any one of these planets influencing them through the current progressive cycle need be extra careful. For them perhaps these might prove to be the worst four days of the year. Avoid making any new commitment and taking any new risk. Also, experiences like a sudden incident of fire, or an accident, or a financial misfortune are the doings of this conjunction.

On the world scene, terrorism and violence are likely to escalate, especially in Israel-Palestine and Iraq region. Also, sudden outbreak of an undesirable happening, and strong possibilities of both natural and man-made calamities are very likely. The countries that are most likely to be affected during these four days would be Pakistan, and the middle eastern countries, especially Iraq, Palestine and Israel.
