Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the following is intended only as a general guideline.  For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your birth chart, placement of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.  

Jupiter’s transit in the sidereal zodiac sign Libra (May 16)

On May 16, Jupiter leaves (sidereal) Aries and enters the next zodiac sign, Taurus.  Jupiter’s transit from one zodiac sign to the next occurs, on average, once a year. Taurus being a fixed and earth sign ruled by Venus, Jupiter in Taurus has a tendency to enhance material prosperity of those who have well placed and connected Venus and Jupiter in their birth charts while others likely to experience their prosperity diminish. In general, transit of Jupiter in Taurus is positive for material expansion.  For one thing material prosperity around the worlds is likely to be expand. (It must be noted that despite Jupiter’s positive influence on world material prosperity, effects of other planets should also be taken into account to assess the net result or effect). In addition, the influence of business people and in general, most of the traders and business people in all and every field will likely to have hands full during the time Jupiter remains in Taurus. In general, the Taurus Jupiter is known to be responsible for world material wealth expansion. So from that perspective expect some positive economic changes during this period and welcome the Jupiter’s entry in Taurus.

On individual levels, for those who have dominant Jupiter in their birth charts and have Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, Scorpio, or Capricorn as their natal ninefold ascendant are likely to experience a very positive twelve months period beginning May 16.

Total Solar Eclipse (May 20/21)

A total solar eclipse occurs on May 20 approximately during the hours of 23:00 of May 20 to 01:00 of May 21 GMT.  This eclipse will be visible in continents of far-east Asia (east of India), eastern China, Pacific rim-countries,  Australia and  North America. 

This eclipse is important since the Sun and Moon will be within 5 degrees from Ketu, the Southern or descending node in the sidereal zodiac sign Taurus. Consequently this eclipse, according to Vedic astrology, is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Taurus rising or Taurus as moon sign. 

For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun or Moon in their natal charts should watch-out.  It’s not a good day!  Take extra precaution and avoid any sort of outdoor activity requiring you to get out of house during the time of eclipse.

On world scene, East Asia, North America, Australia, China and Japan are likely to experience undesirable happenings.

Pluto-Neptune ninefold trine (April 18-May 11)

On individual level, if in your birth chart Pluto is in sextile with Neptune or Pluto-Neptune form a ninefold trine, and if either of these planets is currently influencing your life via your current progressive chart, then you are very likely to be positively affected by this trine.  Depending on the houses these planets occupy in your birth chart, you are going to have a positive experience in that particular field. Enjoy this experience!

At a collective level, the Pluto-Neptune ninefold trine is positive in either bringing terrorism under control or even wiping out major terrorist cells through covert operation. In addition, this ninefold trine is good for Russia and to some extent for China. Also, on technological front, expect some positive breakthroughs in medical, high technology and biotechnology fields. 

Uranus-Rahu trine (Uranus-Ketu sextile)  (April 11 – May 9)

Uranus-Rahu trine is going to be very favorable for those who have lunar nodes favorably placed in their natal charts with respect to Uranus.  If such placing is connected to the first house, second house, ninth house, tenth house, or eleventh house then expect monetary as well as power gains, promotions and improved prestige in professional and social fields.  The ideas that you always wanted to pursue but somehow could never get started….now is the time to follow that dream. You will distinctly notice and feel the positive energy flowing through you during this period.  It’s time to jump in and enjoy this period.

Uranus-Rahu ninefold conjunction (and Uranus/Ketu opposition)  (April 28 – May 4)

If in your birth chart Uranus is in conjunction with the lunar node Rahu, and if any one of these two planets are influencing you now via your current progressive chart, then you might want to consider taking extra precautions in your professional and financial areas during this period. Staying low key is certainly the way to go.  This conjunction can become dangerous, and ruin your plans and bring about the unexpected disaster in every which way.  In short, during this period you have been tested. If you have strong and positively placed lunar nodes and Uranus in your birth chart, then perhaps you need not worry.

On a collective level, the United States and in particular, the Republic Party and republicans are likely to run into some very difficult period. Also, USA and Russia and USA and China may go through a crisis situation during this period.

Mars-Rahu, and Mars-Ketu Squares (May 1-7)

During these seven days, Mars makes a square to each of the lunar nodes. Typically these squares are very unfavorable and unfortunate in general.  For those who have these squares in their birth charts, and if they have any one of these planets influencing them through the current progressive cycle, they need be careful. The best thing to do is to lay low key, not make any new commitment, and avoid taking any sort of risk.  

On the world scene, both natural and man-made calamities causing destruction and loss of lives during these seven days are likely.

Mars-Uranus quincunx (May 2-11)

Watch-out for bad news during these 9 days! Sudden and undesirable happenings are likely to occur if you have such quincunx in your birth chart.  It could be a sudden loss of money, unfortunate accident, or a bad news. Only thing I suppose you could do is be prepared and avoid taking any new risk during this period.

On a collective level, natural and man-made calamities are likely, especially in the United States of America.

Neptune-Ketu  ninefold trine (Nep-Rahu sextile) (May 2-11)

For those who have well placed Neptune, and if she is in trine with any of the two lunar nodes, and are presently being influenced by any of these planets (Neptune, Rahu, or Ketu) through their current operating cycles, are likely to experience a very positive period. Rise in self confidence, feeling empowered, strong intuitive power, and in general feeling great about everything around are some of the symptoms that you are likely to enjoy.

Collectively on global scene, this period is very positive for Russia and China. Also, most of the technological areas are likely to make significant progress via inventions and discoveries. Spiritual and religious activities are likely to impart positive energy and create a very healthy atmosphere around us.

Pluto-Ketu ninefold trine (and Pluto-Rahu sextile) (May 4-20)

If through your current progressive chart influence of either Pluto or lunar node is active and if Pluto is favorably positioned with respect to lunar nodes in your natal chart expect a very favorable time. Such positive events will be related to the affairs signified by the houses these planets occupy or aspect. For example, if the seventh house is involved, expect a new and positive development in relationship area, or business partnership, or success in capturing the audience if you deal with masses. If eleventh house is involved it may financially prove to be a very rewarding period. 

On a collective level, this is a good period for economy. This period is also good for progress in technical fields (new innovations and discoveries) and religious reconciliation.

Saturn-Jupiter quincunx (May 13-18)

Jupiter-Saturn quincunx is going to be unfavorable for those who have Jupiter and Saturn are unfavorably placed in their natal charts.  Frustration, loss of motivation, insecure feeling, loss of direction in life, general unhappiness are some of the symptoms of this quincunx. This is like a test period. A period that can be viewed a real positive opportunity from self discovery standpoint since it will require you to bring best out of you to deal with situations around you.  If you have such quincunx in your birth chart, and if any one of these planets is presently influencing you through your current progressive cycle then you need to look at the things with a different attitude. The best thing to do is to stay the course of present action without making new commitment. Remember the time when you felt the life is not fair and not worth living, very unsure of yourself, and unhappy with family.. well, that’s how you going to feel this time.

On a collective level, religions around the world will find difficulty in carrying out their activities. More controversies are likely to occur to test traditional moral values, and in general, religious authorities will have difficulty in having people keep their faith.

Neptune-Saturn ninefold square (May 27 – July 14)

If you have a Neptune-Saturn square in your birth chart, and if any one of these two planets influencing you now through your current progressive chart, then during this period you might want to consider postponing your plans of expansion or any new venture, and just stay in a defensive mode.  This square has a tendency to ruin your plans in a very deceptive manner, and usually, there is very little you can do about it once the process begins.

On a collective level, countries like China and Russia may face some difficult time during this period.
