Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the following is intended only as a general guideline. For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your birth chart, placement of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.
Total Lunar Eclipse
A total lunar eclipse occurs on October 8, approximately during the hours of 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM GMT. This eclipse will be visible in the North American and the western part of the South American continents, pacific island regions including Hawaii and the far-east region including Japan, China and Pacific-rim countries.
This eclipse is important since the Sun and Moon will be within 2 degrees from Rahu and Ketu respectively, and therefore will last for a long time (5-6 hours). The eclipse will occur with the Southern or descending node Ketu, in the sidereal zodiac sign Pisces and the ascending node Rahu in Virgo . Consequently this eclipse, according to Vedic astrology, is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Virgo or Pisces rising or Virgo or Pisces as moon sign.
For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun or Moon in their natal charts, should watch-out. It’s not a good day! Take extra precaution and avoid any sort of outdoor activity requiring you to get out of the house.
On world scene, the United Sates, Canada, South America, Mexico and Pacific island region including Hawaii, the far-east region including Japan, China and Pacific-rim countries are likely to be affected with undesirable events.
Retrograde Mercury (October 5)
On October 5, the planet Mercury becomes retrograde in sidereal Libra. It will stay retrograde in sidereal Libra until October 17. Then with it’s retrograde motion Mercury enters sidereal Virgo and stays retrograde in Virgo until October 26. Typically retrograde Mercury means anxieties, communication breakdowns, unexpected delays, frustrations, missing deadlines, unforeseen obstacles and disappointment in daily chores. Retrograde Mercury in Libra means more frustrating periods for people in art, judiciary fields, media, communications, show business people and diplomats. Retrograde Mercury in Virgo means uneasy periods for scientists, researchers, detectives, business people, accountants, etc., This is the time not to start a new project or a venture, but rather reflect on what’s been done so far. Also, this is the best time to cleanup that closet and do other chores that you have been postponing due to lack of time.
In addition, if you have dominating Mercury in your birth chart and if Mercury is currently your operating planet, then you are more likely to experience the pronounced effects of retrograde Mercury during this period with respect to matters signified by the house it’s transiting in your progressive chart.
Saturn’s transit in the sidereal zodiac sign Scorpio (October 31)
On October 31, Saturn will enter the sidereal zodiac sign Scorpio, and it will remain in Scorpio till January 26, 2017.
Scorpio being the water and fixed sign, for about the next two and half years, Saturn will strongly influence the world psyche, world religions, commerce, and economy. Those who have Saturn in Scorpio will see their lives transformed to a new settings (Saturn return) due to a drastic change (mostly at emotional and psychological level). In my opinion, it’s going to be a very positive and exciting two and half years for those who have dominant Saturn in their birth chart and have Virgo, Gemini, Aquarius, and Capricorn as their natal ninefold ascendant.
In the next two and half years, on a world political scene, countries like India and Pakistan will make news headlines. Covert activities in most part of the world will be on rise. Terrorism or terrorist activities will gain new found momentum with increasing number of incidences. The Middle-East region will continue to be the battle ground, especially the countries like Syria, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Turkey and Iran.
Pluto-Saturn ninefold square (October 3-9)
If in your birth chart Pluto makes a square with Saturn, and if either of these planets is currently influencing your life via your current progressive chart, then you want to consider taking extra precaution in dealing with money matters, people at work, especially with your adversaries. In general, this is the time to stay low key and not be aggressive. Be cautious and alert as much as possible. Do not trust anybody during this period.

Uranus-Saturn ninefold quincunx (October 5-9)
When Saturn-Uranus ninefold quincunx occurs, it is not good for you if you have such quincunx or square in your birth chart. In addition, if the planet Uranus or Saturn is affecting your life via your current progressive chart, then you might want to consider taking extra precautions in the areas which are affected by these planets as shown in your natal chart. You should avoid taking any kind of risk at any cost during this period. Such quincunx can make things very miserable and difficult for you. Staying low key is certainly the way to go. Avoid any new ventures and postpone the matters that you want to begin till this period is passed.

Neptune-Saturn ninefold quincunx (October 11-15)
If you have Neptune-Saturn quincunx in your birth chart, and if your current planetary operating cycle is influenced by either of these planets then you are likely to experience a subtle but serious financial or social setback or an unpleasant secret will be revealed to you. If you are planning to take a long distance (overseas) trip during this period, be extra careful for nasty surprises, or even being stranded in places you never dream of. Jupiter-Rahu sextile is favorable for those who have such sextile in their natal charts. A proper balance between the optimism and conservatism will protect you from becoming over optimistic (or aggressive) as well as over protective. If you have such trine in your birth chart, and if any one of these planets is presently influencing you through the current progressive cycle then you are likely to enjoy this period with full vigor and success as it would seem to come to you naturally.
