Monthly Astrological Insights for June 2020

Date Posted: May 31, 2020

The month of June is likely to experience a variety of planetary impulses activating forces of nature worldwide in a significant way. Some of those impulses are likely to stem from a strong annular solar eclipse of June 21 and four to five retrograde planets (Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and Neptune after June 23).  Especially the stationery Pluto will play a significant role in activating the energy force lasting it for a long time.

Among the retrograde planets, Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter and Venus are certainly important for the month of June as they all will be imparting their impulses, requiring us to stop going forward with our ambitious agenda of acquiring material success and taking a pause to look inward and perhaps reflect on life in a meaningful way. While the retrograde Pluto, Saturn and to some extent Jupiter would possibly be responsible for the beginning of spiritual and wisdom oriented transformation, the retrograde sidereal Taurus Venus would remind us that the journey of material happiness doesn’t go in a straight line and it has its own challenges.  And these challenges become the basis for our next step of collective human evolution.

The manifestation of the Pluto’s ingress in Capricorn and the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in sidereal Capricorn will continue to be reflected in painful, fearful and destructive world events (especially the Covid-19 outbreak, natural as well as man-made calamities, unfortunate deaths, violence, senseless killings, etc.,). The posting of March 17, 2020 on Coronavirus outbreak underscores the Pluto’s Capricorn ingress.

The physical, social, political and economical  turmoil, especially in the United States will likely to continue during the entire month, especially due to the president Trump’s governing style in uncertain political, economical and social environment.

As I have alluded a few silver linings (drastic reduction in air pollution worldwide, improving the air quality, and perhaps favorably influencing the climate change fallouts) in the midst of this crisis in my last postings and a wake up call triggered by the Covid-19 crisis for us to reflect on where we are in our journey of human evolution, it seems to me that since the Pluto’s ingress in Capricorn (February 13) the glimpse that it had provided us over last two and half months of what to come when Pluto returns to Capricorn by the end of 2020 (after being retrograde and returning to Sagittarius July 3 through December 26, 2020) to stay in Capricorn for next 19-20 years.

One thing is certain.  As a result of Covid-19 experience and the wake up call it triggered, going forward, our life styles are very likely to be transformed and (hopefully) more aligned with “Nature”.  The fact that people still reluctant to engage in going back to normal life even after the Covid-19 related restrictions are relaxed, suggests that people’s perception about the “norms” of healthy and happy living might have been transformed.  Only the time will tell how far this transformation process will continue.

One of the key observations that can be made as reported in credible news sources since the Covid-19 outbreak (and especially during May), is that people are seriously contemplating about the way they want to leave.  Lot of them who go to work every day and deal with traffic hassles and long commuting times, would now prefer and more likely to look for ways to move to a less congested areas and work at least partially from home. And companies or organizations they work for would also be looking at the solutions to make that happen.  As a result, less pollution, less consumption of fossil fuels, drastic reduction in commuting times would likely to result a much healthier environment and more productive life style.  The likely tradeoff here would be the healthy life style versus settling for remote communication (online meetings, online communications, online work) replacing the environment of directly working with people in offices, and also missing the advantages of having direct experience of being there face to face which can sometimes be more valuable and productive.

Another observation that can be made is: the impact of Coronavirus outbreak that forced us to stay isolated to avoid loss of human lives which clearly resulted in having adequate time for family members to get closer and spend time together and know each other better.  Before, typically the family members were busy working and wouldn’t have enough time to share with each other.  From the psychological impact standpoint, in my opinion, this is a huge transformation!  And it would likely to result in a society with a sense of more security, being well and real happy, as it would be reflected in reduced crimes, reduced stress and health issues (which usually stem from stressful and disturbed mind) and having opportunities to truly connect with not only just family members but others outside family such as friends and acquaintances.

And perhaps, this is the true message of the Capricorn Pluto to us of becoming far more spiritually inclined through connecting with each other by putting less emphasis on material needs that we were accustomed to but still meeting adequate enough material needs.

A weak lunar Eclipse (June 5, 19:13 GMT)

A weak lunar eclipse occurs on June 5 during the hours of 18:00 – 20:30 GMT.  It’s not a strong eclipse, and it will be visible in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and  Australia.   Since it’s a weaker type eclipse I don’t expect it to influence the world events in a significantly negative way.

An annular Solar Eclipse (June 21, 6:42 GMT)

An annular solar eclipse occurs on June 21, approximately around 6:42 GMT and lasting for about 10 minutes with maximum eclipse duration under a minute. The central path of this eclipse passes through Central African Republic, Congo, Ethiopia, south of Pakistan and northern India, and China.  A partial eclipse will be visible in north and east Africa, south-east of Europe, most of Asia, and north of Australia.

This eclipse is important since the Sun and Moon will be within 2 degrees from Rahu, the Northern or ascending node in the sidereal zodiac sign Gemini. Consequently this eclipse, according to Vedic astrology, is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Gemini rising or Gemini as moon sign.

For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun or Moon in their natal charts should watch-out.  Take an extra precaution and avoid any sort of outdoor activity requiring you to get out of house during the time of eclipse.

On world scene, Africa, most of Asia might experience undesirable happenings in the following next six to eight weeks.

Retrograde Mercury (June 18 – July 12)

On June 18, the planet Mercury becomes retrograde in sidereal Gemini. It will stay retrograde in Gemini all the time while it’s retrograde. Typically retrograde Mercury means anxieties, communication breakdowns, unexpected delays, frustrations, missing deadlines, unforeseen obstacles and disappointment in daily chores. Retrograde Mercury in Gemini means more frustrating periods for leaders communicators, authors, editors, small business people, people that deal with any kind of communication business.  This is the time not to start a new project or venture, but rather reflect on what’s been done so far.  Also, this is the best time to cleanup that closet and do other chores that you have been postponing due to lack of time.

In addition, if you have dominating Mercury in your birth chart and if Mercury is currently your operating planet, then you are more likely to experience the pronounced effects of retrograde Mercury during this period with respect to matters signified by the house it’s currently transiting through in your progressive chart.

Jupiter’s brief entry in sidereal Capricorn on Mar 29, 20 (Mar 29 – July 1)On March 29, 2020, Jupiter entered Capricorn, it becomes retrograde in Capricorn on May 11 and with its retrograde motion returns to Sagittarius on July 1, 2020. Thereafter, it stays in Sagittarius until November 20, 2020. While in Capricorn, being a cardinal and earth sign ruled by Saturn, Jupiter in Capricorn (despite debilitated in Capricorn) has a tendency to enhance material prosperity of those who have well placed and well connected Saturn and Jupiter in their birth charts while others likely to experience their prosperity diminish.  However, given the Pluto’s presence in Capricorn, the rate of destruction of material wealth far outweighs the material prosperity of Capricorn Jupiter. During this period of March 20 – July 1, 2020,  the influence of contemporary philosophers on society will shape the future direction of our social evolution through the philosophical and metaphysical debates. Since Jupiter will be in conjunction with Pluto during March 27 – April 15, 2020 in Capricorn, the possibility of a severe religious or morality crisis as well as financial crisis are very likely.  Certainly, the way we have the religious and morality based norms today will be challenged by the new forces of human evolution. And the world financial markets will exhibit unprecedented volatility.  The contemporary philosophers, reformers, industrialists, scientists, and all those who have power to influence people with their unique intelligence based talents will enjoy this period to its fullest.Retrograde Venus  (May 13 – June 25)On May 13, 2020 Venus becomes retrograde and remains in sidereal Taurus till it becomes direct on June 25.  Venus stays in Taurus all the time while retrograde. Venus becomes retrograde about once every 19 months, and stays retrograde for about six weeks.  On the 1st of August Venus enters sidereal Gemini. Venus transits through Taurus from March 28 through August 1, 2020.

In general, a retrograde Venus in Taurus (a sign ruled by Venus) means a very challenging period for women, marriages, home life, lovers, entertainment industries. During the retrograde period, expect the divorce rates to peak, fighting between spouses to intensify, and delays, frustrations, and misunderstandings to take a center-stage in domestic matters. Taurus being the earth sign (money matters, hard work) the retrograde Venus in Taurus also means challenges for entrepreneurs, blue class workers, small businesses (especially owned by women), restaurant and hotel owners; and also precious stones and jewelry business owners.

If you have a dominating Venus in your birth chart, and if your current planetary cycle influences your life via Venus then you are more likely to experience the effects of the retrograde Venus during May 13 – June 15. The entertainers like actors, actresses, musicians, comedians, movie directors and producers, entrepreneurs, blue class workers, small businesses (especially owned by women), restaurant and hotel owners; and precious stones and jewelry business owners may find themselves in a miserable situation during the retrograde Venus period especially if they are currently being influenced by Venus through their current progressive cycles.

Retrograde Jupiter (May 15 – September 13)

Jupiter becomes retrograde in sidereal Capricorn on May 15 and with its retrograde motion returns to Sagittarius on July 1, 2020. It remains retrograde in Sagittarius until September 13.

While in Capricorn, being a cardinal and earth sign ruled by Saturn, Jupiter in Capricorn (despite debilitated in Capricorn) has a tendency to enhance material prosperity. But during its retrograde period in Capricorn and given the Pluto’s presence in Capricorn, the rate of destruction of material wealth is likely to be more significant.

For those who have a well placed Jupiter in their birth charts and if Jupiter’s period is currently in operation, such people are likely to feel the deceleration in their progress.  Remember it’s only temporary!  Need to put more energy in to whatever you do to achieve what you need to achieve.

On the world scene, particularly in religious world, “confusion” will dominate and things are likely to move at much slower rate.  The world economy may experience a slower growth.

Retrograde Saturn (May 11 – September 29)

Saturn became retrograde on May 11 in sidereal Capricorn, and is going to stay retrograde till September 29 in Capricorn.  For those who have a well placed Saturn in their birth charts and if Saturn’s period is currently in operation, then they are likely to experience slow progress. Best way to deal with retrograde Saturn is to put more energy in to whatever you do to work towards your goal.

On the world scene, generally, the projects that deal with expansion are likely to either stay on hold or experience sluggish progress.  In religious world, things are likely to move at frustratingly slow rate.  In the political arena what may seem like progress will turn out to be a disaster.

About President Donald Trump and his current challenges

President Trump’s operating Gochar planets (the planets that presently active for him) for June continue to be Saturn and Venus. And they will continue to be operating planets for him for several more years. In addition, Neptune continues to be the operating planet till July 26..

During June the retrograde Saturn will be in the sidereal Capricorn, in the eighth house  of his Gochar (transit) chart. In his ninefold Gochar (transit) chart, Saturn will be in the 10th house until June 23 and then in the ninth house for the rest of the month. The retrograde Venus (which becomes direct on June 25) will be in sidereal Taurus (the 12th house of his Gochar Chart) for the entire month too.

From Dasa standpoint, Saturn continues to be unfavorable, being in the eighth house of his Gochar (transit) and in the 10th house and (after June 23)  the ninth of his of his ninefold Gochar (transit) chart.  As a result, President Trump remains to be self-destructive and continues to face challenges in dealing with his friends and adversaries alike. In addition to be frustrated and depressed, he is likely to be in the company of wrong people. In light of the on going Coronavirus crisis, he will continue to misbehave driving his own agenda with no evidence or proof and have friction with his cabinet members, members of the Coronavirus task force and political adversaries. Furthermore, he will be dealing with his self-created feud with congress men and women and others.  Overall chaos, fear,  confusion and disappointment will continue to dominate to describe his political experiences.

The manifestation of the 12th house resident transiting Venus is likely to be unfavorable for him when it comes to dealing with women and his personal finances. The 9th house resident Aquarius Neptune and the 12th house (and in the first house after June 23) resident ninefold Neptune in his Gochar (transit) charts will continue to create deceptive atmosphere around him (either created by himself, such as by taking hydroxychloroquine, or by some of the people  surrounding him)

The most serious challenge that has been going on since March is due to the opposition of transiting Pluto to his natal Saturn. During June it is likely to become more intensive than the previous month for him (due to Pluto turning retrograde in the 8th house of his Gochar (transit) chart). From governing the country standpoint, he would likely to be overwhelmed by defeat and humiliation due to his eccentric behavior.

Thus, during June, the challenging transit of Saturn will continue to present very intensive and painful time for him.  And the opposition of the transiting Pluto to his natal Saturn will certainly continue to create explosive political climate, governing failures, mishandling of coronavirus crisis, and therefore, resulting in  yet another trying and frustrating month.

However, when one looks at the close conjunction of Sun and Rahu, and Rahu and Uranus in the 10th house of his natal chart,  and Moon in very close conjunction with the lunar node Ketu in the 4th house of his natal chart, it’s not surprising why he operates the way he does.  It seems to me that he is totally driven by the country’s (USA) destiny (at least at this point in history) which is very closely tied with his own due to the Rahu-Uranus conjunction in the 10th house of his natal chart.

It’s the reflection of what collectively the country (USA) as a whole is going through at this point in time. Perhaps, it’s a part of painful process of transformation and discovery of the next phase of its evolution. If the country’s destiny is at the crossroad of “CHANGE” at this point in history, that will certainly be reflected in political events of June. Perhaps, it seems more and more likely that the Coronavirus outbreak and its ultimate toll on Americans finally may bring that “CHANGE”.
