Monthly Astrological Insights for November 2021

Happy Halloween!

As November begins, the planets Jupiter and Saturn that have been stationary during the second half of October will start gaining speed and consequently, albeit slowly, the stagnant atmosphere around us give way to action filled and constructive activities that we are likely to engage in. In addition, Mercury will gain its speed well above its average speed and that energy will be felt in giving boost to communications activities, political, social and business negotiations, and thus, effectively connecting us with each other in a more meaningful way.

On the other hand, Venus has been slowing down below its average speed as it is looking forward to becoming retrograde by the end of the year. As a result, a general slowdown and more challenges are likely emerge for artists, and for people who deal with entertainment fields such as music, movies and businesses that deal with luxury.  Also, challenging periods for personal relationships between couples, partners, etc., would be on rise.

Some of the other events for November include: an almost total lunar eclipse occurring on November 19 during the hours of 6:00 to 12:00 GMT, also on the same day Jupiter returns to sidereal Aquarius. The opposition of Mars with Uranus (Nov 16-18), square with Saturn (Nov 9-12) and the quincunx with the lunar node Rahu (Nov 2-4) would create uncertainty in political and financial fields as their energies could become responsible for unexpected violence, more man-made and natural calamities and perhaps to some extent a fearful period all around the world.

As far as Covid-19 related challenges are concerned, although waning, they are not likely to go away for another six months to a year.

Lastly, by the end of November, the manifestation of the energy of the Pluto-Uranus square likely to become more active reflecting in rising violence, higher frequency of the occurrences of natural and man-made calamities and a period filled with fear and uncertainties.

A partial (almost total) Lunar Eclipse (November 19)

An almost total lunar eclipse occurs on November 19, approximately during the hours of 6:00 to 12:00 GMT with maximum at about 9:02 GMT.  This exceptionally deep partial eclipse will be visible in North America, Pacific Ocean, Alaska, eastern Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

This eclipse is important since the Moon and Sun respectively will be within 4 to 5 degrees from Rahu (the northern lunar node) and Ketu (the southern lunar node), and therefore, the eclipse will last for a long time (about 6 hours). The eclipse will occur with the Southern or descending node Ketu, in the sidereal zodiac sign Scorpio and the ascending node Rahu in Taurus . Consequently this eclipse, according to Vedic astrology, is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Scorpio or Taurus rising or Scorpio or Taurus as moon sign.

For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun or Moon in their natal charts, might want to stay low key.  It’s probably not a good day. Take extra precaution and avoid any sort of new activity or new venture during the eclipse.

On world scene, the North America, Australia, Pacific region countries including Hawaii may experience some unavoidable events during six to eight weeks following the eclipse.

Jupiter returns the sidereal Aquarius  ( Nov 19, 2021 – April 13, 2022 )

On April 5, 2021 after being temporarily entered sidereal Aquarius, Jupiter with its retrograde motion returned to sidereal Capricorn on September 15 and will stay in Capricorn till November 20, 2021. On November 20, 2021, it will reenter Aquarius and will remain in Aquarius till April 13, 2022.

Aquarius, being the air sign, Jupiter’s manifestation in Aquarius will certainly  be reflected in emergence of new philosophies, philosophical debates, and as a result, perhaps new norms and new way of living.  For the entire world, in general, it’s going to be an auspicious time from the spirituality advancement point. In addition, Aquarius being a fixed sign, the resulting philosophical influences will likely to be long lasting.  Also, academia, social reformers, social justice, morality, universal brotherhood and to some extent religions are likely to be positively influenced by Jupiter’s transit in Aquarius.

For individuals, especially for those who have dominant Jupiter in their birth charts and have Capricorn, Aries, Gemini, Leo or Libra as their natal ninefold (Navamansa) ascendant are likely to experience a very positive period Nov 20, 2021 thru April 13, 2022.

About President Joe Biden and his challenges…….

President Joe Biden’s current Dasa cycles are: Jupiter major, Rahu intermediate and Venus as sub cycle lasting through March 22, 2022.  The planets in the Nakshatras (constellations) ruled by Jupiter are: Jupiter and Mercury; in the Nakshatras ruled by Rahu are: Mars and Ketu; and in the Nakshatras ruled by Venus: none. Thus, the activation of energies of Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Ketu and Moon and Venus are expected to be reflected in President’s present activities and actions.

For President Joe Biden, November is likely to be a much better month than the previous one as he finally ekes out, albeit not getting as much as he wanted, a multi trillion dollar spending bill that progressive and moderate democrats had not been in agreement. Nonetheless, it will finally still seen as a victory for democrats as they reluctantly come together to pass it.

With Libra as his ninefold (Navamansh) ascendant, the slightly favorable to neutral Jupiter continues to be in the 4th house of his Gochar (transit) chart until Nov 18, and then very favorable as it transits through the 5th house of his Gochar chart;  the unfavorable retrograde Mercury in the 1st house continues till Nov 20 and then becomes favorable as it enters the 2nd house of his transit chart. The unfavorable Mars in the first house for the rest of  month, and Ketu in the 2nd house.

Given the transit (Gochar) chart dispositions of his active planets, the slightly favorable to neutral Jupiter after November 18 becomes favorable for him in successfully executing his domestic agenda and achieving his remaining goals: Afghan refugees and the border crisis, continued Covid-19 (Delta Variant) nationwide vaccinations efforts, global humanitarian vaccine drive, providing help to needy nations, etc.

The unfavorable Mercury turns favorable after November 20 making it easier for him deal with his critics and adversaries. As a result he would likely to make some political gains and recover from his sliding popularity.

However, simultaneously, the active Mars will continue to be challenging for him as he will be severely attacked and accused by his critics on a daily basis. Also he might be dealing with some minor to moderate health issues during November.

More importantly, the opposition of the transiting Uranus to his natal Mars continues to be active for him till mid-November and it will test his ability to govern. Although not as intense as it was during the last month, the energy of the transiting Uranus opposing his natal Mars ( until Nov 15) continues to force him to be more confrontational, the act that he always like to avoid.

On the other hand, the opposition of the transiting Saturn to his natal Pluto is likely to impart a very subtle and favorable energy that will help him navigate through this challenging period despite ongoing crisis and later in the month the transiting Pluto opposing his natal Jupiter will prove to be politically very favorable.

Overall, November is likely to be a much better month than October. And he is likely to come out stronger than before going forward.
