One of the significant planetary events for July is the transit of Mars and Mercury in sidereal Cancer. Mars in sidereal Cancer till August 8, along with Mercury in the same sign (because Mercury becomes retrograde in Cancer, its transit in Cancer is extended till August 26) is likely to play a significant role, the manifestation of which will distinctly be reflected in confusion, misunderstanding,  frustration and flaring of temper not only in political matters all around the world (especially in United States, Middle East (Israel, Iran, Syria), India and Pakistan) but also at personal level in lives of those who have poor placement of Mars in their natal charts and unfavorable aspect of Mars with Mercury.  Mercury in water sign, being suffocated, usually have trouble expressing himself or herself and debilitated Mars in water sign Cancer has a tendency to keep the rage inside until it boils up and explodes.

Another significant event (which has been going on since March) continues to be the perfect conjunction of transiting Saturn and the south lunar node Ketu (and opposition of Saturn and Rahu) in sidereal Sagittarius. Sagittarius being a fire and spiritual sign ruled by Jupiter, it’s about the righteousness and our judicial perception coming under attack. It will be reflected in all aspects of our lives, especially in social, political areas and the areas where power and corruption dominates. 

It’s a period when karmic forces are working under full force, and experiences that typically have no logical explanations resulting in “why it’s happening to me?” are likely to be far more frequent at both personal and collective level.  But at the same time, It’s a period when after having gone through painful experiences ultimately patience and perseverance wins! 

It’s a period when our prejudices and conditionings are challenged and open up the possibilities to shed them through understanding of “what is” and let go of “what should be or what we would like it to be” and the potential for seeing the reality by lifting the fog of illusion around us-a process referred to as self-realization.  This is a period when a potential for true transformation (a spiritual experience) happens if we are aware and conscious about around surrounding. More on this below under Saturn-Rahu opposition.

As a result, it’s possible that the collective political, religious and social events all around the world, may go through a process of irreversible transformation (a recent example, Iran-USA conflict that might become very dangerous if the countries involve ignore the prudent approach to solve their conflict , and also the debates among the democratic party’s presidential nominee hopefuls) that might be required to align the forces of nature (Saturn-Ketu conjunction), as a next step of our human evolution!

A partial Lunar Eclipse (July 16 at 21:39 GMT)

A partial lunar eclipse occurs on July 16 during the hours of 19:00 to 23:40 GMT. It’s not a strong eclipse, and it will be visible in Australia, Africa, South America, most of Europe and Asia.   Since it’s a weaker type ( Sun and Moon going to be away from the lunar nodes by about 6 degrees) I don’t expect it to influence the world events in significantly negative way. 

However, according to Vedic astrology, this eclipse is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Gemini or Sagittarius rising or Gemini or Sagittarius as moon sign. 

For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun or Moon in their natal charts, should take it easy.  It’s probably not a good day. Take extra precaution and avoid any sort of new activity or new venture during the eclipse.

On world scene,  Australia, Africa, South America, most of Europe and Asia, might experience some undesirable events.

Retrograde Mercury (July 8 – Aug 1) 

On July 8, the planet Mercury becomes retrograde in sidereal Cancer. It will stay retrograde in Cancer till August 1. Typically retrograde Mercury means anxieties, communication breakdowns, unexpected delays, frustrations, missing deadlines, unforeseen obstacles and disappointment in daily chores. Retrograde Mercury in Cancer means more frustrating periods for water sign dominated people, such as social reformers, nuns, nurses, religious leaders, philosophers, and philanthropists. These people are likely to find themselves a bit suffocated to express themselves to public. This is the time not to start a new project or venture, but rather reflect on what’s been done so far.  Also, this is the best time to cleanup that closet and do other chores that you have been postponing due to lack of time.

In addition, if you have dominating Mercury in your birth chart and if Mercury is currently your operating planet, then you are more likely to experience the pronounced effects of retrograde Mercury during this period with respect to matters signified by the house it’s currently transiting through in your progressive chart.

The transit of the lunar node Rahu in sidereal Gemini and Ketu in sidereal Sagittarius (March 8, 2019 – September 25, 2020)…….

The backward moving lunar nodes (which represent the point of intersections of earth’s orbit around the Sun and the Moon’s orbit around the Earth) Rahu and Ketu stay in one sign for approximately 18 to 18 1/2 months, and on March 8, they changed signs (Rahu from Cancer to Gemini and Ketu from Capricorn to Sagittarius). And they remain in their respective signs till September 25, 2020.

Especially for individuals, Rahu and Ketu are considered as karmic planets. Those who have Aries, Leo, Virgo, Libra and Capricorn ninefold (Navamansa) ascendant are likely to be benefited by positive energy of these lunar nodes for next 18 months or so.  While Leo and Virgo ninefold ascendant people will likely to see financial gains and professional success, Libra and Aries ascendant people will put their new ideas to work by successfully implementing them. The Capricorn ascendant people will be victorious over their rivals and overcome heavy odds to be successful in whatever they do.

During next next 6 to 8 months the lunar node Rahu will be making oppositions with planets Saturn and Pluto (and simultaneously the lunar node Ketu will conjunct Saturn and Pluto) These opposition and conjunction aspects will be very strong and intense.

The Saturn-Rahu opposition occurs during March 31 – October 23 (within three degrees).  It usually deals with intense karmic experiences for both individuals and collectively for a society or nation as a whole.

For individuals, based on their natal charts, if they have challenging placement of these planets, they are likely to go through painful material experiences as a part of their karmic redemption process, and only through the awareness while going through these painful experiences, such individuals can transform their lives by understanding themselves, a process usually refers as a self realization. 

On collective level (societies or nations), places like Russia, China,  Saudi Arabia and Iran are likely to experience social or political unrest.  In the United States, the political Republican party and republicans may go through unwanted painful experiences during this period.

The Pluto-Rahu opposition within three degree orb, occurs during February 16 – May 25 (within three degrees). Similar to Saturn-Rahu opposition it deals with intense karmic experiences for both individuals and societies or nations, but such experiences will likely to be very drastic and unbearable.

For those who have challenging placements of these planets in their natal charts, are likely to have intense karmic experiences. These experiences are extremely intense, and they will certainly (and drastically) change our comfort zones that we are used to, and after having gone through a period of struggle and adjustment, we (in a way forced) will likely to arrive at and must adjust to a new level of living (both materially and non-materially).  Again the idea here is the same as that for Saturn-Rahu opposition that only through the awareness while going through these painful experiences, such individuals can transform their lives by understanding themselves, a process usually refers as self realization. 

On a collective level, an eruption of new waves of violence in the Palestine-Israel region is likely. In addition, world religions in general, and religious leaders in particular, may experience themselves having to go through crisis that demand changes. In other words, the orthodox religious leaders may come under social and moral pressures to change the way they handle their responsibilities. 

About President Donald Trump and his challenges…… 

President Trump’s operating planets (the planets that presently active for him) for July continue to be Saturn, Venus, Pluto and Ketu.  While Saturn and Venus will continue to be operating planets for him for several more years, Pluto and Ketu will continue to be till August 29, 2019.

During July, Saturn will be in the sidereal Sagittarius, in the seventh house of his progressive chart, and in the 6th house of his ninefold progressive chart till July 8 and then in the 5th for the rest of the month. Venus will be in sidereal Gemini (the 1st house of his progressive chart) till July 23, and then in Cancer (the 2nd house of his progressive chart) for the rest of the month.

From Dasa standpoint, Saturn continues to be unfavorable, being in the seventh house of his progressive chart, but favorable being in the 6th house his ninefold progressive chart till July 8th and then unfavorable being in the 5th house of his ninefold progressive chart. Thus, it’s a mixed picture. Due to being in the 7th house of his progressive chart,  Mr. Trump, as has been, will continue to face challenges in dealing with his friends and adversaries alike. He will still continue to be haunted by Mueller report’s fallout, his income tax returns and business litigations. He will even get involved in direct confrontations with people that include not only his adversaries but also with his cabinet and family  members. However, at least until July 8th, (being in the 6th of of his ninefold progressive chart) Saturn is favorable for him, and therefore, to some extent he is likely to have things go his way in politics. But after July 8, confusion and disappointment become keywords to describe his political experiences.

The manifestation of the 1st house resident transiting Venus is favorable for him for personal life happiness standpoint till July 23. The 2nd house resident transiting Venus is also favorable for financial gains and material happiness standpoint. However, the transiting Venus will conjunct natal Saturn during July 23-25, and as a result, he is likely to face challenges from females (e.g. the Speaker Pelosi), getting increasing frustrated in dealing with females and female related issues.

The 7th house resident Pluto in both the progressive and ninefold progressive charts is certainly not positive for him as he will encounter sudden, unexpected and explosive situations, finding them extremely difficult to deal with. In addition, the transiting Pluto is going to be in quincunx with his natal Rahu, making it extraordinarily challenging from politics standpoint.  Furthermore, the 7th house resident transiting Ketu, conjuncting transiting Saturn will certainly add fuel to fire further making the matters worse.

Thus, during July, while the challenging transit of Saturn in his the progressive and the favorable transit of Saturn in his ninefold progressive chart presents a mixed picture, the conjunction of explosive and operating transiting planets Saturn and Ketu in the 7th house of his progressive chart will create more political and personal challenges from legality and insecurity standpoint, resulting in an yet another trying and frustrating month for him to deal with the fallout from Mueller report, investigations by House democrats into his taxes and business dealings, suspicious and insecure people around him.  

Incidentally, although a weak one, a partial lunar eclipse occurring on July 16 may become responsible for activating negative energy and negative impulse affecting actions of President Trump during July 16-17 since he was born only a few hours prior to a powerful lunar eclipse.

Global Predictions……..

The important challenging planetary configurations for July include Saturn-Rahu (April 25 – Sept 30) opposition; Saturn-Mars (July 25-27), Neptune-Mars (July 28-30) quincunxes, and Pluto-Neptune (June 23 – Sept 21) ninefold quincunx; Uranus-Mars (July 9-11) square; Uranus-Saturn (July 17-24) and Uranus-Rahu/Ketu (July 24 – Aug 2) ninefold squares

The Saturn-Rahu (April 25 – Sept 30) opposition may become responsible for social or political unrest in places like Russia or China (Hong Kong turmoil), and also for eruptions of violence incidences at unexpected places stemming from racism and religious hate.  In addition, for the Republican Party and republicans in the United States, it may prove to be prudent to stay on guard during this period.

The manifestation of  Saturn-Mars (July 25-27) quincunx may be reflected in a short term but very intensive friction between India and Pakistan. Terrorism and violence, especially in Middle East will be on rise. Outbreak of an undesirable happening, and strong occurrences of both natural and man-made calamities are real possibilities.

The cause of Neptune-Mars (July 28-30) quincunx may result in an outbreak of covert activities among leading nations and possibilities of both natural and man-made calamities. The countries that are most likely to be affected during this period will be: the United States of America, Russia, China, Iraq, Iran, Palestine and Israel.

The Pluto-Neptune (June 23 – Sept 21) ninefold quincunx may become responsible for:  An eruption of new waves of violence in the Palestine-Israel, Iran, Syria and  Afghanistan-Pakistan regions. Occurrences of natural as well as man-made calamities all around the world, and Russia, and China may experience political as well as social turmoil. 

The cause of Uranus-Mars (July 9-11) square may result in a sudden outbreak of an undesirable happening and strong possibilities of both natural and man-made calamities. The Democratic Party in the United States may find itself in a very difficult and frustrating situation. The political situation in Israel may chaotic.

The Uranus-Saturn (July 17-24) ninefold square may become responsible for renewed friction between Republican and Democratic Parties as well as rising tensions between USA and China and USA and Russia.

The manifestation of Uranus-Rahu/Ketu (July 24 – Aug 2) ninefold squares are likely to be reflected in a difficult and messy situation for President Trump and his administration in dealing with foreign matters. The manifestation of the Neptune-Rahu (June 1 – July 5) trine may be reflected in a positive period for Russia and China. Also, most of the technological areas are likely to make significant progress via inventions and discoveries. Spiritual and religious activities are likely to impart positive energy and create a very healthy atmosphere around us.

The Neptune-Jupiter (July 16-August 24) ninefold trine may become responsible for new and positive changes in religious, academic, and social fields that people are likely to enjoy.
