Monthly Global Predictions for May 2004

Date Posted: April 30, 2004

May begins with a total lunar eclipse (May 4). Since this eclipse occurs on the sidereal Aries-Libra axis and is visible in Europe, Asia (Middle east), Africa and Australia, the possibility of occurrence of terrorist activities and violence is very likely in any one of those regions. In addition, the conjunction of Mars and Saturn which occurs during May 20-23 in sidereal Gemini  may become responsible for a severe natural disaster or a huge manmade calamity due to communication problems. Of course, during the same period it will not be surprising to see the conflict between the Israel and Palestine gets flared up and the Iraq situation becomes worse.

On a positive note, however, we have a lot more to be thankful to Saturn-Ketu (May 11-22), Rahu-Jupiter (May 20-June 5), Mar-Uranus (May 16-18), and Mars-Ketu trines and Saturn-Jupiter (April 23 – May 12) and Mars-Jupiter (May 20-23) sextiles. I expect the world economy to expand very convincingly and more terrorist plots to be foiled than succeed. And some of the key terrorist might get captured.

For science and technology May will turn out to be a very favorable month as escalation in research activities resulting in innovations and discoveries in modern medicine and biotechnology will continue.  Innovations in other fields such as high-tech and information technology will also make the headlines.

The countries that are likely to make headline news are:  Russia, United States, European countries, Iraq, Middle Eastern countries including Israel and Palestine, and China.

  • United States of America:

President Bush and his administration:

Although May, in general, may turn out to be a good month for the world, for President Bush it’s a different story. During May for him the lunar nodes will be squaring his natal Pluto and natal Mercury till May 15, and as a result, the first two weeks of May will prove to be very crucial for him in dealing with domestic as well as foreign matters. In my opinion, personally, it’s certainly going to be extremely frustrating period for him as the likelihood of some of his very close associates deserting him or forced to leave him becomes high, and some of the key republican leaders are likely to be disappointed with his performance and more importantly with his stubbornness.   In addition, during the conjunction of Mars with Saturn (May 20-23) he should take care of his health and personal safety.  On a positive note, as Jupiter transits his natal Mars in May his popularity in poll is likely to stay ahead of his democratic counterpart.

The Country:

For the country in general, May is a positive month except perhaps during May 20-29 period. Positive news with respect to terrorism related activities such as foiling of terrorist plots or actual capturing of key terrorists are very likely during May.

For the Republic Party the first two weeks are positive, but the third week and possibly the first half of the fourth week is not favorable.

For the Democratic Party except for May 20-29 the month looks to be positive.

·        Russia:  May may turn out to be a crucial month for Russia and Putin administration. Some sort of social or political crises are likely to emerge during May 15-27 period. Covert activities will be on rise during the same period.

·        Europe:  During May 20-29 an event is likely to occur that will become the cause for the (further) friction between the USA and Europe. Although not very likely terrorist related activities might occur during the first and the last two weeks of May.

·        Religion:  Except for the last week of May religions or world religious leaders should enjoy their activities and work.

·        Natural and Man-made Calamities:   The lunar eclipse (May 4), and May 15-27 periods are likely to filled with events related to both man-made and natural calamities.

While man-made calamities may manifest themselves in terrorism, unrest, violence, and accidents, the natural calamities are likely to include extreme weather conditions such as severe cold winters, and equally intensive droughts; and thunderstorms, earthquakes, air crashes and fires.
