Total Lunar Eclipse (October 8)
A total lunar eclipse occurs on October 8, approximately during the hours of 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM GMT. This eclipse will be visible in the North American and the western part of the South American continent, pacific island regions including Hawaii and the far-east region including Japan, China and Pacific-rim countries.
This eclipse is important since the Sun and Moon will be within 2 degrees from Rahu and Ketu respectively, and therefore will last for a long time (5-6 hours). The eclipse will occur with the Southern or descending node Ketu, in the sidereal zodiac sign Pisces and the ascending node Rahu in Virgo . Consequently this eclipse, according to Vedic astrology, is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Virgo or Pisces rising or Virgo or Pisces as their moon signs.
For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun or Moon in their natal charts, should watch-out. It’s not a good day! Take extra precaution and avoid any sort of outdoor activity requiring you to get out of the house.
On world scene, the United Sates, Canada, South America, Mexico and Pacific island region including Hawaii, the far-east region including Japan, China and Pacific-rim countries are likely to be affected with undesirable events.
About the global violence…..
In the Research Journal of NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Reseach), Volume 2, Fall/Winter 2011-2012, I wrote an article: Modern Planets and Wars, Uprisings, Revolutions and Violence. In that article the following prediction was made:
Based on the this research which is limited only to the four outermost planets, the
next future event that might deal with uprising, war, revolution, violence or unrest
may occur during July-August 2014 when the ninefold angles for three pairs (Pl-Ur,
Pl-Ne, Pl-Sa) will come close to 135 degree, two pairs (Ne-Sa, and Ur-Sa) form 90
degree, and the Ne-Ur form zero degree angle.
In light of what has been happening since late June/ early July (three air plane crashes, one of them was blown up in the sky over Ukraine skies by a missile, Iraq civil war in the early part of July, and then a deadly conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Israeli-Palestine region) it’s interesting to note the remarkable correlation between the occurrences of the current events and their corresponding planetary configurations (ninefold angles or aspects) as they are being unfold. Although the article points to the July-August 2014 period, the actual plots (graphs) as shown in the Annual Prediction column for 2014 seem to extend that period though October 2014. Therefore, it would be interesting to observe the crisis as they being unfold (perhaps the prominent one yet to be manifested) until the end of October.
And the significant events of the last few months were:
- Violence between Israel and Hamas forces from Palestine
- Upsurge in ISIS activities in Iraq and Syria—beheading of an captive American
- Increased presence of Russian forces along the Ukranian-Russian border
- Violence in Ferguson, Missouri
It would be interesting to see what unfolds during October.
Global Predictions……
Saturn’s transit in the sidereal zodiac sign Scorpio (October 31)
On October 31, Saturn will enter the sidereal zodiac sign Scorpio, and it will remain in Scorpio till January 26, 2017.
Scorpio being the water and fixed sign, for about the next two and half years, Saturn will strongly influence the world psyche, world religions, commerce, and economy. Those who have Saturn in Scorpio will see their lives transformed to a new setting (Saturn return) due to a drastic change (mostly at emotional and psychological level). In my opinion, it’s going to be a very positive and exciting two and half years for those who have dominant Saturn in their birth chart and have Virgo, Gemini, Aquarius, and Capricorn as their natal ninefold ascendant.
In the next two and half years, on a world political scene, countries like India and Pakistan will make news headlines. Covert activities in most part of the world will be on rise. Terrorism or terrorist activities will gain new found momentum with increasing number of incidences. The Middle-East region will continue to be the battle ground, especially the countries like Syria, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Turkey and Iran.
The important challenging planetary configurations for October include Uranus-Saturn (Oct 28-31) ninefold opposition; Uranus-Saturn (Oct 5-9), Neptune-Saturn (Oct 11-18) and Neptune-Rahu (Oct 23 – Nov 7) ninefold quincunxes; and Pluto-Saturn (Oct 3-9) ninefold square.
Due to the influence of the Uranus-Saturn ninefold opposition and quincunx the United States of America, Russia or China may experience social or political turmoil at home as well as tensions rising among them.
The Neptune-Saturn ninefold quincunx may become responsible for rise in covert activities. Possibilities of natural as well as man-made calamities are very likely during this period. Non-democratic countries are likely to see shift of power from one faction (or dictator) to another. Religious activities around the world will likely to appear more secretive than open.
The manifestation of Neptune-Rahu ninefold quincunx may be reflected in economic turmoil in Russia and China. Covert activities around the world may find a new momentum (but because of Neptune’s secretive character we may never know) with regard to terrorism and other international conflicts.
The ninefold square of Saturn with Pluto is likely to become responsible for emergence of serious new challenges for Russian government. In addition, barbaric activities in the Middle-East region will continue to be on rise. Terrorists are likely to be successful in creating confusion and chaos. Social turmoil in Europe is likely.
The auspicious planetary configurations for October include Uranus-Mars (Oct 3-5) trine; Pluto-Uranus (Oct 4-16), Saturn-Jupiter (Oct 18 – Nov 11) and Pluto-Neptune (Oct 26 – Nov 18) ninefold trines; and Rahu-Mars (Oct 9-11), Rahu-Jupiter (Oct 13-23) sextiles.
The Pluto-Uranus ninefold trine means an extraordinary time for technological discoveries and inventions. Expect some new important technological breakthroughs during this month. For the United States, in general, this month is going to be a remarkable and successful month.
The manifestation of the Saturn-Jupiter ninefold trine may be reflected in positive developments with respect to religions all around the world. People will likely to be convinced with the importance of moral values and will have no difficulty in maintaining their religious faith.
The Pluto-Neptune ninefold trine may become responsible for either bringing terrorism under control or even wiping out major terrorist cells through covert operation. In addition, this ninefold trine is good for Russia and to some extent for China. Also, on technological front, expect some positive breakthroughs in medical, high technology and biotechnology fields.
The influence of the Rahu-Jupiter ninefold sextile maybe reflected in overall happiness and secure feeling people might at least temporarily experience.
The countries that are more likely to be affected during this month are: United States, Europe, Russia and the Middle East (Syria, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan and Palestine-Israel regions).
About President Obama….
For October 2014, President Obama’s operating planets are going to be Mercury, Venus and Neptune. The month begins with Mercury in sidereal Libra, it turns retrograde on October 5 in Libra, then on October 17, with its retrograde motion Mercury enters sidereal Virgo. On October 26, Mercury becomes direct, and it remains in sidereal Virgo till the end of the month. Therefore, in his progressive chart, Mercury will remain in the 3rd house until October 17, then in the 2nd house for the rest of the month. Venus will be favorable for him but Neptune being in the 7th house of his progressive chart may play a deceptive role when the President is confronted to make some critical decisions.
Since the third house Mercury is not favorable for him, until at least October 17, he will certainly experience difficulties in communicating with people around him and find it difficult to get through. However, after October 17, Mercury being in the favorable second house, despite being retrograde Mercury will provide him the energy he needs to successfully deal with the both international and domestic crises/issues.

The Pluto-Uranus ninefold trine means an extraordinary time for technological discoveries and inventions. Expect some new important technological breakthroughs during this month.
The influence of the ninefold square of Saturn with Pluto is likely to be reflected in serious new challenges for the republican leaders and the Republican party, especially increased tension between the establishment of the republican party and the tea party counterparts.
· Russia: The Neptune-Rahu ninefold quincunx (especially during Oct 23-30) may become responsible for economic turmoil in Russia. Covert activities may find a new momentum (but because of Neptune’s secretive character we may never know) with regard to terrorism and other international conflicts. The pro-Russian forces in Ukraine are likely to be successful in creating confusion and chaos.
· Europe: During the first ten days of the month, the influence of the ninefold square of Saturn with Pluto is likely to become responsible for emergence of serious new challenges. Terrorists are likely to be successful in creating confusion and chaos. Social turmoil is likely.
· China, Japan, and Pacific-rim countries: The Neptune-Rahu ninefold quincunx may become responsible for economic and political turmoil in China. However, the influence of the Saturn-Jupiter ninefold trine is likely to be reflected in a positive period for China during the second half of the month. · Natural and Man-made Calamities: The natural calamities like extreme weather conditions, wildfires, hurricanes, heavy rains, air crashes as well as man made accidents are very likely to occur during October 3-9, 11-15 and 23-31.
Earthquakes: Based on the latest earthquake prediction model III (yet to be published) the earthquake(s) of magnitude 7 or higher, if occur, are likely to occur on October 8-9, 11-12, 14-15, 17, 19, 20-23, 27-28 and 30-31.
While man-made calamities may manifest themselves in terrorism, unrest, violence, accidents, and air crashes, the natural calamities are likely to include extreme weather conditions such as severe cold winters, and equally intensive droughts, hurricanes or typhoons, thunderstorms, earthquakes and fires.
