Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the following is intended only as a general guidance.  For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth chart, and based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses, placement of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.

Mars-Rahu, and Mars-Ketu Squares

For the first three days in December Mars makes squares to each of the lunar nodes. Typically these squares are very unfavorable and unfortunate in general.  For those who have these squares in their birth chart, and if they have any one of these planets influencing them through the current progressive cycle need be careful. The best thing to do is to lay low key, not make any new commitment, and avoid taking any sort of risk.  

On the world scene, expect some both natural and man-made calamities causing destruction and loss of lives during these three days of December.

Uranus-Rahu, and Uranus-Ketu ninefold squares

The effects of these squares begin on November 25 and likely to last through December 4, 2000. These squares may cause severe turmoil during that time for those who have them in their natal charts.  Of course, the severity of turmoil and frustration would depend on the how strong are these squares in natal charts. Typical symptoms are likely to be sudden loss of money, unexpected or unimagined misfortune, extreme dangers and difficult situations.

On the world scene, in the last week of November, these squares are not good for the United States.  Expect some unwanted setbacks in foreign policy.  Especially relationships with Russia and China are likely to turn sour, and therefore need to be careful.  In general, Americans are likely to become very restless during the last week. Natural calamities as well as man made accidents all around the world are likely to occur during the last week of this month. 

Neptune-Saturn ninefold square

If you have Neptune-Saturn square in your birth chart, and if any one of these two planets influencing you now through your current progressive chart, then during December 18-25 period you might want to consider postponing your plans of expansion or any new venture, and just be in defensive mode.  This square has a tendency to ruin your plans in a very deceptive manner, and usually there is very little you can do about it once the process begins.

On a collective level, countries like China and Russia may face some difficult time during this period.

Retrograde Saturn and Jupiter

Saturn and Jupiter will continue to be retrograde during December.  For those who have well placed Saturn and or Jupiter in their birth charts and if any one of these planets period is in currently in operation, such people are likely to feel the deceleration in their progress.  Remember it’s only temporary!  Need to put more energy in to whatever you do to achieve what you need to achieve.

On the world scene, generally, the projects that deal with expansion are likely to either stay on hold or experience sluggish progress.  In religious world, things are likely to move at frustratingly slow rate.
