Wishing you a Happy and Prosperous 2017
One of the biggest stories for 2017 is the transit of Uranus in sidereal Aries. After entering for a few months in Aries during June 24-September 4, 2106, Uranus with its retrograde motion returned to Pisces. Now on April 6, 2017 it will enter into sidereal Aries again and stay there for the next seven years or so.
Uranus being the planet of change will certainly affect the matters related to Aries in a big way. Aries being the fire and cardinal sign, which is very suitable for independent, ambitious, energetic and impulsive Uranus, the changes in world political landscape are going to be tremendously influenced by Uranus’s transit in Aries. The people who are most affected by this transit are military personnel, business and political leaders. In scientific and technological areas expect a lot of drastic changes; and emerging new ideas will find their way into innovations and discoveries. The scientific and technological growth will rise at a very rapid pace. A new wave of world political and corporation leaders with their new perspectives on world order will certainly transform our world in next 6-7 years to a new level to which we must adjust to.
The challenging aspect of Uranus transit in Aries is the painful transformation of the material world. The first couple of years, especially for the United States, will be filled with undesirable and chaotic activities that are required for human evolution to move forward with a new direction. Some of the manifestations of this transit are: violence, senseless killings, persecutions, wars and intolerable and tragic situations for those who cannot defend themselves, occurrences of rising tension between the USA and Russia as well as that between the USA and China. Financial markets will exhibit tremendous volatility. Natural calamities, especially wildfires, abnormal weather patterns, earthquakes of significant magnitude, unbearable summer months, etc., are likely to occur more frequently.
As indicated last October in my US 2016 Presidential Election prediction, a very likely scenario, as reproduced below, still exists.
“However, I must add that, regardless of the election outcome, look at the destiny of the United States, which in my opinion is very much dependent on the transiting Uranus. And because the retrograde Uranus being temporarily back in the sidereal Pisces and will not return to sidereal Aries (the cardinal fire sign) until April 2017, there’s a strong possibility that the election outcome may not matter come April 2017. Without being sensationalizing and dramatizing the future of the United States, I think that when Uranus returns to sidereal Aries in April 2017 it will certainly and drastically change the political landscape. As a result, it’s very likely that the person who will be the leading the world’s powerful nation then as the president of the USA will be a different one.”
The next important planetary transit is that of Saturn. On January 24, Saturn will enter into sidereal Sagittarius. It will remain in Sagittarius till June 22 before it returns to Scorpio via its retrograde motion and it will stay in Scorpio until October 25. Then it reenters sidereal Sagittarius and remains there till January 23, 2020.
Sagittarius being the fire and mutable sign, for the next two and half to three years, Saturn will strongly influence the world psyche and world religions. Philosopher, pioneers, scientists and reformers will shape the future of the world. Those who have Saturn in Sagittarius will see their lives transformed to a new level due to a drastic change (mostly at emotional and psychological level) in their perspective about the world around. In my opinion, it’s going to be a very positive and exciting two and half years for those who have dominant Saturn in their birth chart and have Pisces, Aquarius, Libra, and Cancer as their natal ninefold ascendant.
In the next two and half to three years, on the world political scene, countries like India and Pakistan will make news headlines. Religious leaders, reformers, philosophers and scientists will likely to further transform the world with their successful, creative, pragmatic and productive activities.
The transit of the north lunar node Rahu in sidereal Cancer (and that of the south lunar node Ketu in sidereal Capricorn) occurs on August 20, 2017. Because of the trine aspect of the lunar node Rahu with Uranus and Saturn, and the sextile aspect of Rahu with Jupiter during June-October period, the influence of the lunar nodes will result into a flow of positive energy that we all can collectively benefit from, due to the simultaneous collective progress in both the material and spiritual (non-material) worlds. Those who have well placed lunar nodes in their charts and have Taurus, Aquarius or Virgo as their ninefold (Navamansa) ascendant are likely to experience a very positive year.
The good news is that while some of the chaotic events dominate the news, the worldwide spiritual expansion will continue to provide the light for transformation of humanity as a whole. In a very subtle way the ongoing spiritual expansion is likely to eventually transcend the world beyond the normal norms such as religion, race and perhaps nations despite the rise of populism and protectionism.
Jupiter transits in sidereal Virgo until September 12, 2017. Since Virgo is a mutable and earth sign, Jupiter’s transit will likely be responsible for increased material growth while righteousness and compassionate activities taking the backstage.
Advances in technology and sciences will absolutely be phenomenal due to the favorable placement of the modern planets: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The major scientific and technological breakthroughs in fields of medicine, biotechnology, information technology and space science will therefore be remarkable.
Thus, while the uncertain and painful manifestations of the Uranus’s transit in Aries will dominate the events, simultaneously, in a very subtle way, the year 2017 will continue to transform the world to a new level, a necessary step as a part of our collective spiritual growth.
