Wishing you a Happy, Prosperous and Healthy 2023

One of the most prominent planetary events of 2023 is going to occur around mid-January thru mid-February when simultaneously Neptune will be reentering in sidereal Pisces (Feb 15) and Saturn in sidereal Aquarius (Jan 17) after being retrograde for about six months. The manifestation of this event has already been slowly emerging as it seems to be clearly reflected in the current protests and unrest in authoritarian regimes like China (recent protest in Shanghai), Russia (the new military recruiters and soldiers fleeing Russia) and Iran (niece of Iran’s supreme leader speaks out against his “murderous and child-killing regime” as protest continues).  As a result, it’s very likely that the friction between the Unites States and Russia, as well as that between the United States and China, and United States and Iran will be becoming more severe.

One of the prominent fall-outs of the Piscean Neptune will be a significant decline of authoritarian regime’s influence around the world.  Russia, China and other authoritarian regimes will continue to lose their hold as they face the forces of our collective spiritual transformation.

Perhaps, in my opinion, the most important planetary event of 2023 maybe attributed to the side real air sign Aquarius, Saturn and Pluto.  For the entire year Saturn will be transiting through this sign and at the same time the ninefold (Navamansha) Pluto would be transiting through the same sign. Since the air sign Aquarius deals with Information and its instantaneous transmission in cyberspace, unprecedented information and cyberspace war will dominate the year. The nature of this war is likely to be relentless attacks on national security infrastructure, aviation, air travel, power grids, power plants and banking systems. This war will become a major cause for the destruction of material wealth in 2023 along with the natural and man-made calamities. This seems in line with the well anchored Pluto in sidereal Capricorn for continuous transformation of the material world by annihilation of the existing material world and replacing it with a new. It may mean that the way we are used to online surfing and social media experience will no longer be the norm in future.

But the good news is, Aquarius being the air (intelligence) and fixed (perseverance) sign, Saturn’s energy will likely be strongly reflected in the scientific research dealing with the artificial intelligence (AI) and information technology.  This will help us collectively come together at a phenomenal rate leading to a new level of understanding of this world as a part of the process of our spiritual growth. As a result, philanthropists, social reformers, philosophers, scientists, spiritual leaders (not religious leaders) and peace-makers will be enabled to rapidly shape our world with better clarity and purpose. On the downside, however, some of the prominent social media and internet related companies likely to go under and replaced with new companies as a part of Saturn/Pluto’s transformation process.

From Pluto’s energy point of view, since the year 2020, the following years went on the record to be one of the most eventful and memorial years of the first few decades of the 21st century. While Covid-19 will be rapidly subsiding, the year 2023 is likely to follow up with (with a different set of global crisis) the years 2020-2022 with similar experiences. While the Ukraine war is likely to see its apparent end, it is by no means ending until unless Putin loses his power and no longer remains Russia’s leader.

Authoritarian regimes facing more crises and loss of control

After being retrograde, Neptune returns to Pisces and continues to transit through Pisces for the following 14 years (till mid 2036). Neptune being the spiritual planets of our solar system that deal more with heart than mind, it will certainly affect the matters related to Pisces in a significant way. 

Pisces being a water and mutable sign ruled by Jupiter some of its significant characteristics are: Divine, fruitful, fertile, emotional, honest, outspoken, religious, spiritual, nonviolent, polite, modest, moody, affectionate, hermit, psychic, water, compassion, love, heart connection, non-verbal communication and introvert. These qualities complement very well with qualities of Neptune that include: spiritual, intuitive, divine, psychic, magical, highly emotional, moody, clairvoyant, inspiration, imaginative, love, compassionate and mystical. 

As a result, a subtle and slow change in our collective moral and spiritual perceptions is certainly going to be manifested in the way we never experienced before. This era (next 14 years) will be remembered as the period of spiritual inspiration and transformation. Interestingly, this era also complements well with the era of Pluto’s transit in sidereal Capricorn (a sign ruled by spiritual Saturn) that runs in parallel during the same time. The way we have been used to deal with religions will no longer be our norms.  Our moral codes will be greatly influenced by our collective spiritual experiences. And in that sense a subtle but most effective transformation of world morality during this unique era of 14 years is likely to take us to a level where the norms solely based on spiritual experiences will dictate and guide our lives with new level of understanding.  

Pisces, being the sign for poets, musicians, singers, monks, religious leaders, spiritual leaders, nurses, nuns, social workers, caregivers, saints, psychics, actors, sailors and ship captains, these respective fields will go through significant transformations. And these transformations will be reflected in the new norms of morality and ethics, expansion of our collective psychic abilities and mystical experiences keeping in line with steady progress in our ability to directly perceive truth. Also, creativity in areas of music will likely complement our spiritual progress. 

In scientific and technological areas, a lot of drastic changes and emerging new ideas coupled with mystical experiences will find their way into innovations and discoveries.  However, it will be the first time the scientific and technological research will be more focused in areas that will bridge the gap between the science and morality. The likely areas of research will be in spiritual healing, and life-force related activities, looking for ways to tap new sources of energy without disturbing global climate (recent news about the possibility of harnessing energy from nuclear fission and minimizing the usage of fossil fuels will very likely be materialized in next 14 years). The return to the holistic and Ayurvedic practices and alternate medicines are also very likely. A new wave of philosophers and philanthropist with their new perspectives on living, in general, will certainly transform our world in next 14 years with a new level of understanding of life.

On the downside, the religious leaders and social reformers may tend to form cults and spread cult like activities, rise in organized religion scandals, deceptive activities under the disguise of promise of spiritual experiences are likely to be on rise in certain part of the world.  The scandals of the secretive collaboration between the medical doctors and pharmaceutical industries will continue to be exposed. The increase usage of mind altering drugs, disregard for social and to some extent moral responsibility, rise in mental disorders, and losing the touch with reality are some of the likely symptoms of the negative side of Neptune. One of the prominent fall-outs of the Piscean Neptune will be a significant decline of authoritarian regime’s influence around the world.  Russia, China and other authoritarian regimes will continue to lose their hold as they face the forces of our collective spiritual transformation.

On individual level for those who have water sign (Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces) as their ascendant in their natal ninefold (Navamansh) chart should get ready for a brand new and long lasting (14 years) cycle of change, especially a very pronounced cycle if Neptune is a dominant planet in your birth charts. The changes that might occur would be very subtle and would deal with your new or renewed interest in spirituality, openness, psychic abilities to perceive truth, divine experiences, transformed perceptions and beliefs, and the way of living.

In my opinion, despite a painful period of frustration due to unexpected drastic changes in life, it’s going to be an exciting period for those who have dominant Saturn in their birth chart and have Aries, Taurus, Virgo and Sagittarius as their natal ninefold (Navamansha) ascendant. 

Pluto in the sidereal Capricorn

Capricorn being the earth sign (material world) ruled by Saturn (spiritual planet) and being the cardinal sign (leader of the earth signs) and Pluto being the planet of transformation (irreversible change), the drastic changes in our collective perceptions of our material world have been and will continue to be manifested until 2039 in the way we never experienced before by Pluto’s transit in Capricorn. 

This era (until 2039) will be remembered as the period of material world transformation (modifying the existing world by totally annihilating present way of living) to a new and very different way of living that would align with our human evolution.  Since the year 2020 it has already proved that the way we had been used to deal with material world is no longer be our norms.  We now are more isolated and far from being social the way we used to be.  Most of us work from home and we use on line tools to deal with our daily chores. In next few years or so we certainly will return to our normal social life, but with very different perspective about life as we would become conscious about our earth, climate and not just the material waste but also about how we prioritize our (quality of) life and spend time accordingly.

Since the Pluto’s entry in sidereal Capricorn (and thus the pandemic), some of the world business leaders or companies have become obsolete or transformed into other forms reflecting the material way of living has been greatly influenced by our collective spiritual experiences and subsequent understanding of the world due to Pluto’s transformational transit. 

However, this wonderful process of spiritual transformational growth has been and will likely to be accompanied by very painful, chaotic and frustrating human experiences (wars, violence, terrorism, social and political conflicts, natural and man-made calamities are some of the few examples) required to completely annihilate our present social norms and our prejudice based conditioning, resulting in profound changes in our collective moral and spiritual perceptions (consciousness).  While the Covid-19 pandemic may likely to be over by March, a possibility of an emergence of a similar crisis certainly exists as a part of Capricorn Pluto’s continuous process of material transformation.

The world financial markets will continue to be very volatile throughout this year as it’s very likely to become norm going forward till 2039.

Retrograde Venus

On July 23, Venus becomes retrograde in sidereal Leo. With her retrograde motion she returns to Cancer on August 8. Then on September 4 she becomes direct.  Venus becomes retrograde about once every 19 months, and stays retrograde for about six weeks.

In general, a retrograde Venus in Leo (a sign ruled by Sun) means a very challenging period for women in leadership or entrepreneurial role, marriages (committed as well as not committed), home life, lovers and entertainment industries. During the retrograde period, expect the divorce rates to peak, fighting between spouses to intensify, and delays, frustrations, and misunderstandings to take a center-stage in domestic matters. Leo being the fire sign (leaders, fighters, politicians, etc.,) the retrograde Venus in Leo means challenges for leaders, politicians, administrators, actors and people of influence the societies.

When the retrograde Venus transits through Cancer (a water sign) social reformers, health care providers, care givers, charity organizations, mothers with babies, pregnant women are likely to be challenged.
