Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the following is intended only as a general guideline. For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your birth chart, placement of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.
Total Solar Eclipse (Dec 4)
A total solar eclipse occurs on December 4 approximately during the hours of 5:00 to 10:00 GMT. This eclipse will be visible in continents of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the east-coast of South America.
This eclipse is important since the Sun and Moon will be within 3-4 degrees from Ketu, the Southern or descending node in the sidereal zodiac sign Scorpio. Consequently this eclipse, according to Vedic astrology, is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Scorpio rising or Scorpio as moon sign.
For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun, Moon should watch-out. It’s not a good day! Take extra precaution and avoid any sort of outdoor activity requiring you to get out of house.
On world scene, the middle east (especially Israel, Palestine, Iraq, and perhaps Saudi Arabia) countries are likely to experience violence.
Partial Lunar Eclipse (June 24)
A partial lunar eclipse occurs on December 19 during the hours of 17:00 to 22:00 GMT. It’s not a strong eclipse, and it will be visible in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Since it’s a weaker type I don’t expect it to influence the world events in significantly negative way.
Retrograde Jupiter (Dec 4 – April 4)
Jupiter will become retrograde on December 4.. It will stay retrograde until April 4, 2003 in the sidereal zodiac Cancer. For those who have a well placed Jupiter in their birth charts and if Jupiter’s period is currently in operation, such people are likely to feel the deceleration in their progress. Remember it’s only temporary! Need to put more energy in to whatever you do to achieve what you need to achieve.
On the world scene, particularly in religious world, “confusion” will dominate and things are likely to move at much slower rate. The world economy may experience a slower growth.
Retrograde Saturn (October 11 – February 22)
Saturn became retrograde on October 11 and is going to stay retrograde till February 22, 2003. For those who have a well placed Saturn in their birth charts and if Saturn’s period is currently in operation, then they are likely to experience slow progress. Best way to deal with retrograde Saturn is to put more energy in to whatever you do to work towards your goal.
On the world scene, generally, the projects that deal with expansion are likely to either stay on hold or experience sluggish progress. In religious world, things are likely to move at frustratingly slow rate. In the political arena what may seem like progress will turn out to be a disaster.
Neptune-Rahu ninefold conjunction and Neptune-Ketu ninefold opposition (Nov 24 -Dec 7)
For those who have a poor placing of Neptune-Rahu (or Neptune-Ketu) by being especially in the sixth, eighth, and the twelfth house in their birth chart, and current operating cycles is influenced by one of these planets are likely to experience instability caused due to sudden change in their activities and surroundings. Such experiences might turn out to be very unfortunate and frustrating. It would certainly be wise not to commit to anything new during this one week period and stay low key.
On the collective level, social as well as economic turmoil in Russia and China can not be ruled out. Eastern European countries are also likely to be negatively influenced by this planetary configuration. Covert activities around the world may find a new momentum (but because of Neptune’s secretive character we may never know) with regard to terrorism and other international conflicts.
Saturn-Pluto ninefold square (Nov 25- Dec 3)
If in your birth chart Pluto makes a square with Saturn, and if either of these planets is currently influencing your life via your current progressive chart, then you want to consider taking extra precaution in dealing with money matters, people at work, especially with your adversaries. In general, this is the time to stay low key and not be aggressive. Be cautious and alert as much as possible. Do not trust anybody during this period.
On a collective level, Russia is likely to face with some serious challenges and perhaps sudden changes. To some extent China is also going to have a similar experience.
Pluto-Rahu and Pluto-Ketu ninefold squares (Dec 13-23)
The squares of Pluto with the lunar nodes are generally have tendencies to destroy the present setting of life and transform in to a totally new one. Those who have better placed lunar nodes and their connection with Pluto are likely to adapt well to this new change and move to their next level of evolution, and others are likely struggle and may find the change unbearable. Perhaps the best way to deal with this situation is to stay alert and extremely cautious in dealing with your surroundings that affect you. Avoid taking any new risk during this period. And probably be prepared for situations that are going to get worse before they get better with new direction in life. Staying low key is certainly the way to go. Avoid any new ventures and postpone the matters that you want to begin till this period is passed.
On a collective level, a new wave of renewed violence between Israel and Palestinians, as well as outbreak of terrorism around the world during these ten days are real possibilities.
Jupiter-Rahu (and Ketu) ninefold square(s) (Dec 2-31)
Jupiter-Rahu (and Ketu) ninefold squares are going to be very unfavorable for those who have such squares in their natal charts. Insecure feeling, loss of direction in life, general unhappiness, difficulty in keeping the faith in God are some of the symptoms of these squares. If you have such squares in your birth chart, and if any one of these planets is presently influencing you through the current progressive cycle then you need to look at the things with a different attitude. The best thing to do is to stay the course of present action without making any new commitment. Remember the time when you felt the life is not fair and not worth living, very unsure to yourself, and unhappy with family.. Well, that’s how you going to feel this time. Keep your faith strong!
On a collective level, religions around the world will find difficulty in carrying out their activities and in general, keeping people happy. Loss of a well known religious figurehead is likely.
Pluto-Jupiter (Dec 1-28), Neptune-Rahu (Dec 1-13) and Uranus-Saturn (Dec 8-24) trines

For example if the seventh house is involved, expect rapid positive development in your existing or new relationships, or business partnerships, or success in capturing the audience if you deal with masses. On a collective level, this is a good period for the world, especially for the United States, as the differences between the republicans and democrats will again narrow and there will be some positive achievements in terms of getting some important bills passed in Congress. Also, countries like Russia and China will economically flourish and European countries should have easy times both socially and economically. International relations between USA and its allies will improve. Finally the month of December will prove to be exceptional, probably the best month of the year, for progress in technical fields (new innovations and discoveries) all around the world.
