Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the following is intended only as a general guideline.  For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your birth chart, placement of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.  

Retrograde Jupiter (January 8 – May 10) 

Jupiter, which became retrograde on January 8, will stay retrograde until May 10, 2016 in the sidereal zodiac Leo.  For those who have a well placed Jupiter in their birth charts and if Jupiter’s period is currently in operation, such people are likely to feel the deceleration in their progress.  Remember it’s only temporary!  Need to put more energy in to whatever you do to achieve what you need to achieve.

On the world scene, particularly in business world, “confusion” will dominate and things are likely to move at much slower rate.  The world economy may experience a slower growth.

Total Solar Eclipse (March 9, GMT)

A total solar eclipse occurs on March 9 approximately during the hours of 1:30 to 02:15 GMT.  This eclipse will be visible in Indian subcontinent, far-east Asia (east of India), eastern China, Japan,  Pacific rim-countries,  Australia, Pacific-islands countries and Hawaii. 

This eclipse is important since the Sun and Moon will be within 2 degrees from Ketu, the Southern or descending node in the sidereal zodiac sign Aquarius. Consequently this eclipse, according to Vedic astrology, is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Aquarius rising or Aquarius as moon sign. 

For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun or Moon in their natal charts should watch-out.  It’s not a good day!  Take extra precaution and avoid any sort of outdoor activity requiring you to get out of house during the time of eclipse.

On world scene, Indian subcontinent, far-east Asia (east of India), eastern China, Japan,  Pacific rim-countries,  Australia, Pacific-islands countries and Hawaii might experience undesirable happenings.

Uranus-Jupiter quincunx (March 1-10)

While Jupiter deals with outward and material things Uranus’s influence on us is very sudden with intensity. If you have such quincunx in your birth chart, and if you have any one of these two planets influencing you through your current progressive cycle then you are certainly going to experience a period of self inquiry confrontation requiring for you to very closely pay attention to your own self. Of course, it’s up to you to deal with this process courageously and spiritually transform by understanding yourself better or escape from it to have to go through the similar frustration (experience) again in future. It also means you have the opportunity to transform (irreversible change) in your beliefs and moral values that you have been attached to. This period is challenging.  If you overcome the challenge it’s time for marching ahead with a quantum step in the process of self discovery (or evolution). 

On the world scene, world religions are likely to be challenged with earthshaking ideas that they must attend to. Those religious leaders, who are willing to be open minded and ready to listen and act on new and fresh ideas, are the ones that going to be responsible to transform our religious world to a new level. Others are going to fade away with time.

Uranus-Rahu ninefold sextile (Uranus-Ketu ninefold trine)  (March 6-11)

Uranus-Rahu ninefold sextile is going to be very favorable for those who have lunar nodes favorably placed in their natal charts with respect to Uranus.  If such placing is connected to the first house, second house, ninth house, tenth house, or eleventh house then expect monetary as well as power gains, promotions and improved prestige in professional and social fields.  The ideas that you always wanted to pursue but somehow could never get started….now is the time to follow that dream. You will distinctly notice and feel the positive energy flowing through you during this period.  It’s time to jump in and enjoy this period.

Pluto-Jupiter Trine (March 9-22)

This is an important planetary event for people who deal with religion, religious and academic institutes. This auspicious trine could become responsible for a unique transformation in the field of religion as the planet Pluto with its tremendous energy has a power of irreversibly transforming the field of religion and academics to a new level or setting with a new set of norms. 

In your birth chart if Jupiter and Pluto are either in conjunction or trine or sextile, and if either of these planets is currently influencing your life via your current progressive chart, then you are perhaps standing on the thresh-hold of a new era that’s about to begin in your life. Depending on the houses these planets occupy in your birth chart, you are going to have a totally new and a very different experience in that particular field. Be ready to accept this new settings with new challenges as well as the rewards that come with them.

On a collective level, religious and academic and to some extent social fields are very likely to see changes coming in their respective fields. Initial reaction to the change might appear to be a bit confusing and perhaps chaotic, but the majority of us are going to embrace this new wave of change and are very likely to enjoy it.

Saturn-Jupiter square (March 15-31)

Jupiter-Saturn square is going to be unfavorable for those who have such square in their natal charts.  Loss of motivation, insecure feeling, loss of direction in life, general unhappiness, difficulty in keeping the faith in God are some of the symptoms of this square. This is like a test period. A period that can be viewed a real positive from self discovery standpoint since it will require you to bring best out of you to deal with situations around you.  If you have such a square in your birth chart, and if any one of these planets is presently influencing you through your current progressive cycle then you need to look at the things with a different attitude. The best thing to do is to stay the course of present action without making new commitment. Remember the time when you felt the life is not fair and not worth living, very unsure of yourself, and unhappy with family.. well, that’s how you going to feel this time. Keep your faith strong!

On a collective level, religions around the world will find difficulty in carrying out their activities, more controversies that test traditional moral values are likely to occur, and in general, religious authorities will have difficulty in keeping people happy.

Pluto-Neptune ninefold trine (March 21 – April 15)

On an individual level, if in your birth chart Pluto is in sextile with Neptune or Pluto-Neptune form a ninefold trine, and if either of these planets is currently influencing your life via your current progressive chart, then you are very likely to be positively affected by this trine.  Depending on the houses these planets occupy in your birth chart, you are going to have a positive experience in that particular field. Enjoy this experience!

At a collective level, the Pluto-Neptune ninefold trine is positive in either bringing terrorism under control or even wiping out major terrorist cells through covert operation. In addition, this ninefold trine is good for Russia and to some extent for China. Also, on technological front, expect some positive breakthroughs in medical, high technology and biotechnology fields. 

Uranus-Rahu quincunx  (March 30 – April 16)

If in your birth chart Uranus is in the direct quincunx with the lunar node Rahu, and if any one of these two planets are influencing you now via your current progressive chart, then you might want to consider taking extra precautions in your professional and financial areas during this period and be prepared for unwanted surprises and obstacles.  This quincunx can become dangerous, and ruin your plans and bring about the unexpected disaster in every which way.  In short, during this period you are going to be tested and severely challenged. If you have very strong and positively placed lunar nodes and Uranus in your birth chart, then perhaps you need not worry.

On a collective level, the United States and in particular, the Republic Party is likely to run into some very difficult period. Also, USA and China may go through a crisis situation during this period.

Neptune-Rahu (and Ketu) ninefold square(s) (March 30 – April 5)

Neptune-Rahu (and Ketu) ninefold squares are going to be very unfavorable for those who have such squares in their natal charts.  Expect sudden loss of money, power, demotions at work place and/or tarnished reputation in professional and social fields. If you have such squares in your birth chart, and if any one of these planets is presently influencing you through the current progressive cycle then you need be extra careful. The best thing to do is not make any new commitment, and totally avoid taking any business or monetary risk. Remember you never suspected a close friend, and then you suddenly find out that he or she secretly doing things behind your back to hurt you….well something similar is likely to happen….be careful!

On a collective level, secret activities all around the world are likely to accelerate including political covert activities. Social confusion and chaos in countries like Russia and China is a real possibility.
