Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of planets on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the following is intended only as a general guideline.  For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your birth chart, placement of planets in your current progressive regular and ninefold charts, and the current operating planetary cycles the following may or may not be applicable.  

Uranus-Saturn opposition (Oct 27 – Nov 14)

The Saturn-Uranus opposition occurs about once every 40-42 year. It is not good for those who have such opposition or square in their birth charts. In addition, if the planet Uranus or Saturn is affecting your life via your current progressive chart, then you might want to consider taking extra precautions in the areas which are affected by these planets as shown in your natal chart.  Such people should avoid taking any kind of risk at any cost during this period.  Such opposition can make things so miserable and difficult for you that most likely you are not going to forget them in your entire life. Staying low key is certainly the way to go.  Avoid any new ventures and postpone the matters that you want to begin till this period is passed. 

On a collective level, the Uranus-Saturn exact opposition occurs on the US Election Day (which has never happened before). Uranus was discovered around the time the United States was born. Therefore, the characteristics of the US nation, as a whole, are very similar, if not identical to that of Uranus, and the destiny of the US is very much governed by Uranus and to some extent by Saturn.  At the time of the election, Uranus will be in sidereal Aquarius, the sign ruled by Saturn; therefore, these two planets become even more significant in influencing the fate and future of the US on the Election Day, November 4, 2008.  Since some of the characteristics of Uranus include: suddenness, drama, eccentricity and being very forceful, I would not be surprised if the happenings around the Election Day would reflect these characteristics.  In addition, Saturn qualities tend to resemble conservatism while Uranus qualities identify with liberal principles. Therefore, the race is likely to be a very close one with a dramatic finish. It is as if history has been waiting for all these years to witness this truly unique and historic moment of a huge transformation. As a result, our norms of morality will undergo a change to a totally different setting.  

In addition to United States of America, Russia and China may experience social or political turmoil at home as well as tensions rising among them. 

Pluto-Uranus ninefold conjunction (Oct 21 – Nov 3)

At a collective level, the Pluto-Uranus ninefold conjunction could bring a unique change in the way the current US administration deals with other nations with respect to its war against terrorism agenda, and also with its domestic matters. There will be a transformation of a political strategy that might become responsible of a change in the current political agenda, and foreign policy matters of the Bush administration as the planet Pluto with its tremendous energy has a power of irreversibly transforming the field of politics to a new level or setting with a new set of norms. Therefore it’s likely that the Bush administration could get tangled with additional serious issues.

On an individual level, if in your birth chart Pluto makes a square with Uranus, and if either of these planets is currently influencing your life via your current progressive chart, then you are very likely to be affected by this square.  Depending on the houses these planets occupy in your birth chart, you are going to have a sudden and a totally new and a very unpleasant experience in that particular field. Be ready to face this unwanted experience. Stay alert and try not to start a new venture that requires taking a risk. It’s like you are on a business trip or company assignment and you are immediately called off or caught in a situation that you find very difficult if not impossible to get out. 

Mars-Neptune Square (Nov 2 – 4)

Typically this square is very unfavorable and unfortunate in general.  For those who have such square in their birth chart, and if they have any one of these planets influencing them through the current progressive cycle need be extra careful. The best thing to do is to lay low key, not make any new commitment, and avoid taking any sort of risk.  

On the world scene, expect some sudden outbreak of an undesirable happening and greater possibility of both natural and man-made calamities. The countries that are most likely to be affected during these three days would be Pakistan and Russia.

Pluto-Saturn ninefold opposition (Nov 5 -16)

For those who have a conjunction, square, or opposition of Pluto and Saturn in their birth charts, and for those whose current planetary operating cycle is influenced by either of these planets are likely to experience a setback or turmoil in their lives.  Such opposition can become a very strong force to destroy the current setting of your lifestyle and transform it to a totally new setting which may or may not be desirable depending on the strength and positive influence of these planets in the natal chart. In any event it’s going to be an irreversible situation.

On the collective level, the US presidential election process may experience unwanted event, natural as well as man-made calamities are likely, and to some extent, war-like climate in some parts of the world is possible. Tension between Israelis and Palestinians is likely to escalate again at a new level. A few eastern European countries, Russia, and China may experience political or social turmoil.

Uranus-Jupiter sextile (Nov 8 – 18)

This auspicious sextile is good for all world religions as well as for people who are engaged in activities that help us expand morally, socially as well as materially.  

For those who have well placed Jupiter and Uranus in their birth chart (conjunction, trine, sextile, opposition) are likely to experience very positive time during this period.  People involved in the religious activities are likely experience a sudden boost in their daily activities, and religious authorities are going to be well recognized by societies.

On a collective level, religious, academic, and social fields are very likely to enjoy the new and positive changes occurring in their respective fields.

Saturn-Jupiter trine (Nov 12 -28)

Jupiter-Saturn trine is favorable for those who have such trine in their natal charts.  A proper balance between the optimism and conservatism will protect you from becoming over optimistic (or aggressive) as well as over protective.  If you have such trine in your birth chart, and if any one of these planets is presently influencing you through the current progressive cycle then you are likely to enjoy this period with full vigor and success as it would seem to come to you naturally. So enjoy! 

On a collective level, religions around the world will enjoy their activities with positive experiences.  People will likely to be convinced with the importance of moral values and will have no difficulty in maintaining their religious faith. 

Saturn-Rahu ninefold quincunx (Nov 15 – 19)

The Saturn-Rahu quincunx is not good for those who have such quincunx in their birth charts. In addition, if the lunar node Rahu (or Ketu), or Saturn is affecting you via your current progressive chart, then you might want to consider taking extra precautions in areas affected by these planets as indicated by your natal chart.  Such people should avoid taking any kind of risk at any cost during this period.  Such quincunx can make things so miserable and difficult for you that you are never going to forget them in your life. Staying low key is certainly the way to go.  Avoid any new ventures and postpone the matters that you want to begin till this period is passed. 

On a collective level, Russia or China may experience social or political unrest. Also, in the United State for the Republic Party and republicans including for the republican president Bush it may prove to be prudent to stay on guard during this period.

Neptune-Saturn quincunx (Nov 26 – Jan 8, 2009)

If you have Neptune-Saturn quincunx in your birth chart, and if your current planetary operating cycle is influenced by either of these planets then you are likely to experience a subtle but serious financial or social setback or an unpleasant secret will be revealed to you. If you are planning to take a long distance (overseas) trip during this period, be extra careful for nasty surprises, or even being stranded in places you never dream of. You may experience situations totally beyond your control.

On collective level, covert activities will be on rise. Possibilities of natural as well as man-made calamities are very likely during this period. Places like Russia and China are likely to experience political and social turmoil. Non-democratic countries are likely to see shift of power from one faction (or dictator) to another. Religious activities around the world will likely to appear more secretive than open.
