As the Uranus-Rahu (north lunar node) conjunction energy is vanning (being separated more than three degrees now), its manifestation will clearly be evident less violent and less anxiety filled atmosphere, especially in the United States, during this month.
However, the energy of the Saturn-Uranus square (Sept 15 – Oct 23) cannot be ignored as the clashes between the democratic and totalitarian regimes of the world, especially between the Unites States and Russia, United States and China likely to continue and the clashes between the democrats and the republicans in the United States intensify. Another manifestation of energy of the Saturn-Uranus square is the recently interrupted violence in Iran due to the protest over death of a woman in police custody.
On an individual level, the good news is Mercury turns direct on October 2. While for Mercury to return to its average speed may take a week longer (October 10), the working of its retrograde energy will certainly be over by then.
Since Saturn’s return to the sidereal Capricorn last month joining Pluto, the course of destructive and fearful period, war like atmosphere, future uncertainties, senseless killings and chaotic situations all around the world would continue, especially in Ukraine. The uncertainties and anxieties will clearly be reflected in the volatile world financial markets. And Covid-19 although on its decline will continue to stay with us till April 15, 2023.
With Neptune’s return to the sidereal Aquarius on September 17 we have been witnessing a temporary but a sudden shift in our collective consciousness and it’s well reflected in a turnaround in Putin’s behavior. With decline in support for war both internationally and domestically, he has shifted his position in maneuvering the war. This shift is likely to prove to be a confusing one. Being cornered, humiliated and isolated, Putin may become irrational and resort to tactics that result in further escalation of the Ukraine war with far more senseless killings.
Retrograde Mercury (Sept 10 – Oct 2)
On September 10, the planet Mercury turned retrograde in sidereal Virgo. It will stay retrograde in Virgo all the time until it becomes direct on October 2. Typically retrograde Mercury means anxieties, communication breakdowns, unexpected delays, frustrations, missing deadlines, unforeseen obstacles and disappointment in daily chores. Retrograde Mercury in Virgo means more frustrating periods for small businesses, working class blue collar people, money managers, farmers, builders, and students. This is not a good time to start a new project or venture, but rather reflect on what’s been done so far. Also, this is the best time to cleanup that closet and do other chores that you have been postponing due to lack of time.
In addition, if you have dominating Mercury in your birth chart and if Mercury is currently as your active planet, then you are more likely to experience pronounced effects of retrograde Mercury during this period with respect to matters signified by the house it’s currently transiting through in your Gochar (transit) chart. However, for those who have Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Aries or Gemini as their ninefold ascendant are least likely to be affected during this period.
Saturn-Uranus Square (Sept 15 – Oct 23)
One of the most important and deadly planetary combinations of 2022 is the Capricorn Saturn and Aries Uranus square, which occurs within one degree during Sept 15-Oct 23.
Aries being a fire and cardinal sign is very suitable for brilliant, independent, ambitious, energetic, impulsive and crazy Uranus. The changes in world political landscape have been tremendously influenced by Uranus’s transit in Aries (Brexit’s revival, Briton intensely suffering from Covid-19 crisis, humiliating defeat of Donald Trump despite last ditch efforts to overturn the results and Jan 6 hearings, etc.,).
Now combine the Uranus’s energy with that of steadfast and subtle but very powerful energy of Capricorn Saturn through its challenging square with Uranus. It’s a perfect combination for material world disasters including the natural calamities such as a possible outbreak and spreading of a new virus. Unless these energies are properly understood, the man-made calamities might include increased friction between world powers (USA-Russia and China) perhaps resulting into war-like climate.
The people who are likely to be most affected by this square are military personnel, people in power such as business and political leaders. In scientific and technological areas expect drastic changes and emerging new ideas will find their ways into innovations and discoveries. Since the characteristics of Uranus are closely tied with that of the United States as a country (especially the states of California, Oregon and Washington) a likelihood of serious natural and man-made calamity, political and financial upheaval is very strong.
Thus, the manifestation of this undesirable planetary square is likely to be reflected in both the natural and man-made calamities causing destruction and loss of lives during this period. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if an intense battle emerges between the right wing republicans and the left wing democrats not only in congress but all over the country that might last through this period.
However, a potential for profound spiritual growth, both individually and collectively is an amazing silver lining of this materially destructive Uranus-Saturn square.
Saturn’s return to sidereal Capricorn (July 14 – April 15, 2023)
On July 14, Saturn with its retrograde motion returned to sidereal Capricorn and it will stay in Capricorn until April 15, 2023.
Capricorn being the earth and cardinal sign, Saturn’s energy has strongly been reflected in the volatility and changes in the world financial markets, especially the energy (oil) markets, economy and material expansion/contraction. Entrepreneurs, business leaders, politicians, philanthropists, philosophers, scientists, reformers and to some extent monks will shape the future of the world. Those who have Saturn in Capricorn (Saturn return) in their natal charts will be experiencing Saturn’s energy as their lives get transformed to a new settings due to a drastic change (mostly) at material and psychological levels. In my opinion, despite a painful period of frustration due to unexpected drastic changes in life, it’s going to be an exciting period for those who have dominant Saturn in their birth chart and have Pisces, Aries, Leo and Scorpio as their natal ninefold (Navamansha) ascendant.

Is Russian-Ukraine war and senseless killings… going away?
During October the momentum of the war between Russia and Ukraine will continue with unprecedented casualties on both sides. Ukraine will continue to have an upper hand in this war. It’s very likely that US involvement in this war may become more prominent due to the Uranus-Saturn square (Sept 15 – Oct 23). Until Saturn completely returns to Aquarius (April 2023), the Ukraine war is likely to continue its course devastating and destabilizing the country.

President Biden’s challenges in October
For President Biden, despite seemingly chaotic period, October may prove to be a month for further advancing his agenda as positive changes in economy and political climate favor his political agenda. Also, he is likely to be successful in achieving international recognition.
According to his current Dasa in Vedic astrology, he has been in a brand new Saturn’s major cycle of 19 years since September 8. This is a major cycle shift and although it takes at least a few months to see the shift it will certainly be reflected in his activities going forward.
In his natal chart, the Taurus Saturn rules the third and the fourth house, and occupies the 7th house. It sextiles Pluto within three degrees, a very favorable aspect, especially Pluto being in the Nakshatra (constellation) ruled by Saturn becomes a very important and active planet for him for the next 19 years. During the next 17-18 years the transiting Pluto will be in the 4th house of his transit chart, thus making it an extremely powerful planet of politics for him going forward.
Pluto being the planet of transformation and a total change, expect drastic changes occurring on the political landscape. In the next few months it may seem to be a very chaotic political climate in the USA, but it will all fall in place (a much needed transformation) when we look back few years from now. As for Venus, it’s very favorable for him from the success and recognition standpoint. Sun will be stressful during the first half of the month and he may have to deal with minor health issues during the second half of October.
