It is the time of year when the Earth speeds up in its orbit around the Sun as it approaches the autumn equinox. By the first week of October, the Earth reaches its average orbital speed and maximum acceleration, bringing with it a surge of fresh energy that can be felt in the air.
As we move beyond the summer doldrums and lingering stagnation—an atmosphere that, in my view, reflects the influence of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, now gradually weakening as the two planets separate—the modern planets Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, along with Saturn, subtly provide tremendous energy for self-reflection and a shift in world perception. Despite the material chaos surrounding us, this planetary configuration supports a renewed sense of vigor and determination as we collectively continue our spiritual journey.
The Saturn-Neptune conjunction in sidereal Pisces remains a defining influence on world events and personal lives, though less intensely than before. Both Neptune and Saturn turned retrograde in July (on the 5th and 13th, respectively), prolonging global uncertainty and slowing progress. This retrograde motion is expected to extend the chaotic atmosphere, particularly in active war zones, at least until the end of September.
Additionally, the secretive nature of Saturn, when combined with Neptune’s capacity for deception, is likely to trigger covert operations at an astonishing pace across the globe—especially involving nations such as the United States, Ukraine, Russia, China, Israel, and countries in the Middle East. The full scope of these operations may remain unknown for a long time, possibly not becoming evident until well after their intended outcomes have unfolded.
On a collective level, covert activities will be at their peak. Both China and Russia may undergo drastic political shifts, reshaping their national psyche at a deeper level. Meanwhile, terrorism and violence in Middle East may intensify. The risk of both natural and man-made calamities also remains high during this period.
On September 6, Uranus turns retrograde in sidereal Taurus, amplifying the potential for sudden, unexpected changes in financial and political arenas, particularly in the United States. Uranus’s retrograde motion often brings disruptions, creating temporary shifts that can lead to surprises or upheaval. Meanwhile, Neptune’s ongoing retrograde transit signals a prolonged phase of confusion, deception, and twists in the Ukraine-Russia and Hamas/Hezbollah-Israel conflicts. The impact of Neptune’s energy suggests these situations may continue with slow, grinding developments and unforeseen complications.
Despite the current turmoil, the long-term alignments of Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto suggest that these material and societal challenges are part of a broader evolutionary process. These transformative shifts could redefine leadership, governance, and financial systems for decades to come—marking the beginning of a profound global metamorphosis.
A Total Lunar Eclipse (September 7), a six hour event
A total lunar eclipse will occur on September 7, lasting approximately from 15:00 to 21:30 GMT. The phase of totality will span about 82 minutes, centered around 18:30 GMT. This eclipse will be clearly visible across Asia and Australia and partially visible in Europe, Africa, and parts of South America.
This event is significant because the Sun and Moon will be within 3 degrees of the lunar nodes—Ketu and Rahu, respectively—which extends the overall duration of the eclipse to nearly six hours. The eclipse takes place with the southern (descending) lunar node Ketu in the sidereal zodiac sign of Leo, while the northern (ascending) node Rahu is in Aquarius.
According to Vedic astrology, this alignment may bring challenges, particularly for those with sidereal Leo or Aquarius rising signs, or for those with the Moon in Leo or Aquarius. Individuals whose natal charts show the Sun or Moon in close conjunction with the lunar nodes should also be especially cautious. It is generally advised to avoid initiating new activities or ventures during the eclipse.
On a global level, regions including Asia, Australia, Eastern Europe, and Africa could experience a period of difficulties in the four to six weeks following the eclipse.
Interestingly, a solar eclipse will follow on September 21. However, since this is expected to be a relatively weak eclipse, its astrological influence is considered minimal.
Retrograde Uranus (Sept 6 – Feb 4) —Shifts in Financial and Political Arenas
On September 6, Uranus turns retrograde in sidereal Taurus, heightening the potential for sudden and unexpected changes in financial and political spheres, particularly in the United States. Uranus’s retrograde motion often brings disruptions and temporary shifts that may result in surprises or upheaval.
The challenging aspect of Uranus’s transit through Taurus lies in the painful transformation of material norms. Established structures in the material world are likely to be redefined, reflecting humanity’s broader spiritual growth and evolution. These changes resonate with themes previously associated with Pluto’s transformative energy in Capricorn and Neptune’s spiritual influence in Pisces.
For individuals with a well-placed Uranus in their natal charts, and with Pisces, Sagittarius, Leo, or Cancer as their ninefold (Navamansa) ascendant, this transit may bring a particularly positive phase. Such individuals are likely to experience growth and success, especially when Uranus is strongly active in their transit charts. However, during the retrograde period, the pace of these positive developments may noticeably slow down.
Retrograde Saturn (July 13 – Nov 28)—A slowdown in global expansion
Saturn turned retrograde on July 13 and will remain retrograde until November 28. If Saturn is well-placed in your birth chart and currently active in your transit chart you are likely to experience slower progress rather than setbacks. The best way to deal with retrograde Saturn is to put more energy and focus into whatever you’re doing to work steadily toward your goals.
However, if Saturn is not well-placed in your birth chart and is currently active in your transit chart, this period is likely to be particularly challenging—especially in the areas of life signified by the house Saturn occupies in your birth chart.
On the global stage, projects involving expansion are generally expected to either be put on hold or experience sluggish progress. In the religious world, developments are likely to proceed at a frustratingly slow pace. In the political arena, what initially appears to be progress may eventually turn out to be a misstep or even a disaster.
Saturn-Neptune Conjunction (May 4 – Oct 5)
Just about five weeks after entering sidereal Pisces (March 28, 2025), Saturn comes within three degrees of Neptune, forming a close conjunction. Because both are slow-moving planets, and with both becoming retrograde in the following months, this conjunction will last until October 5, 2025. Furthermore, the most intensive phase of this conjunction—when they are within one degree of each other—will occur between June 10 and August 23.
Both Saturn and Neptune are well-aligned with the spiritual water sign Pisces, where Saturn’s wisdom merges with Neptune’s ideal of universal love and compassion. This alignment suggests the potential for a harmonious spiritual evolution. Philosophers, philanthropists, social reformers, and spiritually driven scientists and entrepreneurs are likely to emerge as key influencers, shaping a more compassionate and mindful global landscape.
On a global level, regarding capitalistic and communistic societies, Saturn, with its traditional and conservative worldview, aligns more closely with capitalist structures. In contrast, Neptune’s idealistic and compassionate nature inspired Karl Marx’s vision of a pure and ideal society—later known as communism. However, in practice, communism has struggled to thrive due to the unrealistic expectation that everyone behaves according to Neptune’s idealistic standards. Instead, it often morphs into authoritarian regimes ruled by power-hungry dictators who concentrate power in the hands of a few. This is precisely the negative side of Neptune’s energy, which tends to manifest when Neptune is in detrimental signs such as fire or earth signs.
However, when Neptune is in its most favorable sign, Pisces, authoritarian regimes come under tremendous pressure. Neptune in Pisces strongly counters authoritarian principles. At the material level, Saturn’s structured and grounded energy challenges Neptune’s free-spirited ideals, underscoring the ongoing friction between capitalism and communism—especially in its current authoritarian forms.
As previously mentioned, until the end of May, the north lunar node Rahu was in the unfavorable sign of Pisces, counteracting Neptune’s positive energy. With Rahu’s departure from Pisces, Russian President Vladimir Putin may begin to see his grip on power gradually weaken, especially under mounting pressures from war and internal unrest. Now, with Saturn in Pisces and forming a close conjunction with Neptune, global conflict is likely to escalate further—particularly in nations already embroiled in war or experiencing high geopolitical tension. Specifically, the Ukraine-Russia conflict may intensify and enter a more volatile phase.
On an individual level, this conjunction could prove challenging for those with poorly placed Saturn and Neptune in their natal charts. The severity of the challenges will depend on the zodiac signs and houses these planets occupy. It is expected to be an emotionally and psychologically difficult period, particularly for those involved in hospitals, prisons, asylums, secluded places, sanatoriums, and assisted living facilities, where more painful or deceptive experiences may occur. On the other hand, if Saturn and Neptune are favorably placed in one’s natal chart, this period could mark a deeply rewarding spiritual journey and transformative experiences.
Russian-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas/Gaza war and senseless killings
According to 2020 predictions, “This era of Pluto in sidereal Capricorn (spanning the next 19 to 20 years) will be remembered as a time of material destruction and transformation into a new, different way of living that aligns with human evolution.”
Now, more than two years later, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to escalate. While the forces of Hamas have been significantly reduced, the crisis in Gaza persists. The ongoing suffering of civilians and the senseless loss of life appear to reflect the material destruction associated with Pluto’s transformative influence in sidereal Capricorn.
The war between Ukraine and Russia has intensified, compounded by the recent fallout between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. The conflict shows little sign of resolution, resulting in devastating human casualties and widespread economic hardship.
Meanwhile, Saturn and Neptune’s retrograde motion in Pisces indicates that Russia may undergo significant internal shifts. Power struggles and political unrest could gradually weaken President Putin’s autocratic hold. Despite these turbulent developments, Ukraine is likely to achieve further progress in the conflict.
In the Israel-Hamas struggle, violence remains severe. Gaza is enduring acute shortages of essential supplies, worsening an already dire humanitarian crisis. While certain short-term developments may provide temporary relief, this decades-long conflict is likely to persist unless a profound spiritual awakening emerges—one that transcends religious divisions and fosters reconciliation in the region.
