Monthly Global Predictions for January 2013

Date Posted: December 31, 2012

Wishing you a very happy and prosperous year 2013

In January 2005, Pluto entered sidereal Sagittarius which marked the beginning of an accelerated process of spiritual growth in humanity. It has been marked by globalization, with technological and social developments that enable humans to become more closely connected, a prerequisite to move forward spiritually. During 2013, all the modern planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) will continue to reside in spiritual (sidereal) zodiac signs: Pluto in Sagittarius, a fire and mutable sign ruled by Jupiter; Neptune in Aquarius, an air and fixed sign ruled by Saturn; and Uranus in Pisces, a water sign ruled by Jupiter.  Because both Saturn and Jupiter are planets of spiritual forces (as they rule the last four signs of the zodiac), in 2013, our subtle spiritual human evolution will continue at a phenomenal speed.  In fact, Libra resident exalted Saturn will likely provide an additional boost to spiritual growth. After May 30, 2013, Jupiter will enter the air sign sidereal Gemini, and it will then become responsible for collective intellectual growth and the emergence of new philosophies in accordance with the continued spiritual growth.

However, this spiritual growth is likely to be accompanied with pain and suffering as reflected in violence and terrorism in places like Afghanistan-Pakistan, North Africa, Iraq-Iran, and some other places, and also in natural calamities that include extreme weather conditions, abnormal weather patternsincreased frequency of earthquakesof significant magnitude, wildfires, hurricanes, snow storms etc. The entry of the lunar nodes Rahu (the north node) and Ketu (the south node) into sidereal Aries and Libra respectively (just before the beginning of 2013, and their residence in those respective signs throughout the year) will manifest as difficulties in starting new humanitarian projects and maintaining the balance of power between nations worldwide.  Finally, several regular and ninefold squares occur between the planets of action (Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu and Mars). And that may lead to undesirable events beyond human control. Such events may be particularly likely in the periods of March through May and July through October. During the same period, the world financial markets will exhibit marked volatility.

However, Jupiter’s transit in Taurus will last through May 30, 2013, and because Taurus is a fixed and earth sign, Jupiter’s collective influence result in material expansion (world economic growth) during the first half of the year.  The United States (a Uranus country) will continue to provide the platform for this economic expansion since Uranus resides in Pisces, a sign ruled by Jupiter. Despite the challenges of economic growth, advances in technology and sciences will absolutely be phenomenal due to the favorable placement of the modern planets: Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.  The major scientific and technological breakthroughs in fields of medicine, biotechnology, high technology and space science will therefore be remarkable.

The important challenging planetary configurations for January include Neptune-Rahu (Jan 27 – Feb 2) ninefold oppositions and Saturn-Mars (Jan 5-7) and Mars-Rahu/Ketu (Jan 21-23) regular squares.

The Neptune-Rahu ninefold opposition will likely to be responsible for economic turmoil in Russia and China, covert activities around the world with regard to terrorism and other international conflicts.

While the manifestation of Saturn-Mars square may be reflected in a short term but very intensive friction between India and Pakistan, rising terrorism and violence around the world, especially in Syria, Egypt, and Iraq and Israel-Palestine area and possible outbreak of an undesirable happening, and occurrences of both natural and man-made calamities, the squares of Mars with the lunar nodes may become cause for the both natural and man-made calamities causing destruction and loss of lives.

The auspicious planetary configurations for January include Pluto-Saturn (Dec 9 – March 14) sextile, Saturn-Rahu (Jan 4-8) and Uranus-Rahu (Jan 24-31) ninefold trines, Pluto-Rahu (Jan 8-14) and Neptune-Uranus (Jan 3- Feb 16) ninefold sextiles, and the Uranus-Jupiter regular trine.

The Pluto-Saturn sextile is certainly positive for European and Russian economy. In addition, this period is good for progress in technical fields (new innovations and discoveries) and religious reconciliation.

Saturn-Rahu and Uranus-Rahu ninefold trines will prove to be very favorable for world economical growth, and rising financial markets, especially for the United States of America.

While the Pluto-Rahu ninefold sextile may become responsible for world economic expansion, technical innovations and discoveries and religious reconciliation, the Uranus-Neptune ninefold sextile will prove to be an extraordinary time for collective spiritual growth, technological discoveries and inventions.  Expect some new important technological breakthroughs during this month. For the United States, in particular, it’s going to be a remarkable and very successful period.

The countries that are more likely to be affected during this month are: The USA, Europe, China, Russia, and Middle-East (Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Palestine-Israel region).

  • United States of America:

President Obama and his administration:

President Obama’s current operating planets are Mercury and Sun. In his progressive chart,  presently Mercury is in the fifth house (Sagittarus) of his progressive chart and it enters the sixth house on January 15 and stays in the 6th house for rest of the month. As a result, until January 15, he will be faced with challenges including the serious political opposition for fiscal cliff solution. But after January 15 when both the Mercury and Sun occupy the 6th house of his progressive chart, he should and will enjoy relatively favorable period to carry out his agenda and accomplish his tasks.

The Country:

During the first week of January, the Saturn-Mars square will become responsible for a  potential natural and (maybe) man-made calamities  Also, during the first couple of weeks, the United States and particularly the President Obama and his administration should take extra precaution in dealing with the middle-east crisis.

Pluto-Saturn (Dec 9 – March 14) sextile is certainly favorable for progress in technical fields (new innovations and discoveries) and religious reconciliation. In addition, this period may prove to be positive for the republican party as it will go through a major transformation reflecting the positive changes they should consider in their political and social agenda.

·        Russia:  For Russia, except perhaps the last 4 days of the month, January looks to be a relatively stable month both politically and economically. The manifestations of the Pluto-Saturn sextile will be responsible for new political and social changes that may prove to positive for economical and political environment of the country. During the last 4 days of the month the country may face unforeseen political and social crisis.

·        Europe:  January looks to be positive for the continent from the economy standpoint.  However, during the last week of the month may prove to be socially and politically challenging.

·        China, Japan, and Pacific-rim countries:  For China, except for the last week, the month looks to be positive from economical, social and political stability standpoint. Also, for the rest of the pacific-rim region and Japan during the same period, the economical growth will be reflected in stable and rising financial markets.

·        Middle East:  The Saturn-Mars square and Rahu/Ketu-Mars ninefold squares will become responsible for violence and unrest in Middle East (especially in Egypt, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Israel and Palestine region) during Jan 5-7 and Jan 21-23. Also, during the same period, both the natural and man-made calamities (with violence) are very likely.

·        Religion:  The dominance of Pluto-Saturn sextile is positive for religious reconciliation and expansion in line with the world spiritual growth.

·        Natural and Man-made Calamities:  The natural calamities like extreme weather conditions, wildfires, hurricanes, heavy rains, air crashes as well as man made accidents are very likely to occur during the first and the last week of the month.

Earthquakes: Based on the earthquake prediction model, the earthquake(s) of magnitude 7 or higher, if occur, are likely to occur on January 1, 3-4, 7, 21-22, 24, 26-31.

While man-made calamities may manifest themselves in terrorism, unrest, violence, accidents, and air crashes, the natural calamities are likely to include extreme weather conditions such as severe cold winters, and equally intensive droughts, hurricanes or typhoons, thunderstorms, earthquakes and fires.
