Although it’s very difficult to predict the influence of planetary energy on a given individual without referring to his or her birth chart the following is intended only as a general guideline. For confirmation, however, you must refer to your birth chart. Based on the assessment of planetary strengths or weaknesses in your birth chart, placement of planets in your Gochar (transit) and ninefold Gochar (transit) chart and the current operating planets, the following may be applicable.

Pluto-Jupiter ninefold quincunx (Dec 25 – Jan 1)

This is an important planetary event for people who deal with religion, religious and academic institutes. This quincunx could become responsible for a unique stalemate in the field of religion as the planet Pluto with its tremendous energy has a power to oppose and eventually transform religion and academics to a new level or setting with a new set of norms. 

In your birth chart if Jupiter and Pluto are either in quincunx or opposition, and if either of these planets is currently active via your Gochar (transit) chart, then you are perhaps standing on the thresh-hold of a new era that’s about to begin in your life. Depending on the houses these planets occupy in your birth chart, you are going to have a totally new and a very different experience in that particular field. Be ready to accept this new setting with new challenges as well as the rewards that come with it.

On a collective level, religious and academic and to some extent social fields are very likely to see changes coming in their respective fields.

Neptune-Saturn ninefold square (Jan 2-9)

If you have a Neptune-Saturn square in your birth chart, and if any one of these two planets is being active through your Gochar (transit) chart, then during this period you might want to consider postponing your plans of expansion or starting any new venture. Just stay in a defensive mode if you could.  This square has a tendency to ruin your plans in a very deceptive manner, and usually, there is very little you can do about it once the process begins.

On a collective level, countries like China and Russia may face some difficult time during this period.

Neptune-Ketu  ninefold trine (Neptune-Rahu ninefold sextile) (Jan 6-14)

For those who have well a placed Neptune, and if she is in trine with any of the two lunar nodes, and presently any of these planets (Neptune, Rahu, or Ketu) is active through their current operating cycles, are likely to experience a very positive period. Rise in self-confidence, feeling empowered, strong intuitive power, and in general feeling great about everything around are some of the symptoms that you are likely to experience and enjoy.

Collectively on global scene, this period is very positive for Russia and China. Also, most of the technological areas are likely to make significant progress via inventions and discoveries. Spiritual and religious activities are likely to impart positive energy and create a very healthy atmosphere around us.

Pluto-Uranus ninefold trine (Jan 12-30)

Uranus-Pluto ninefold trine is going to be favorable for those who have these planets favorably placed in their natal charts.  Expect monetary as well as power gains, promotions and improved prestige in professional and social fields.  The idea that you always wanted to pursue but somehow could never get started….now is the time to follow that dream. You will distinctly notice and feel the positive impulse during this period.  It’s time to jump in and enjoy this period.

On a collective level, this is an extraordinary time for technological discoveries and inventions.  Expect some new important technological breakthroughs during this month. For the United States, in general, this month is going to be remarkable and successful month.

Neptune-Jupiter ninefold square (Jan 13-17)

Both Jupiter and Neptune are considered as auspicious planets. While Jupiter deals with outward and with material things Neptune’s energy is activated in a very abstract and subtle way.  If you have such square in your birth chart, and if you have any one of these two planets active via your Gochar (transit) chart then you are certainly going to have a potential for transformation (irreversible change) in your beliefs and moral values that you have been attached to. It’s time for marching ahead with a quantum step in the process of self-discovery (or evolution). Embrace this period with total openness and vulnerability. It’s the time of rejuvenation with a positive force in your life. Enjoy!

On the world scene, world religions are likely to be challenged with earthshaking ideas that they must attend to. Those religious leaders, who are willing to be open minded and ready to listen and act on new and fresh ideas, are the ones that going to be responsible to transform our religious world to a new level. Others are going to fade away with time. 

Uranus-Saturn ninefold conjunction (Jan 21-26)

Saturn-Uranus ninefold conjunction is not good for those who have such conjunction, opposition or square in their birth charts. In addition, if the planet Uranus or Saturn is being active via your Gocher (transit) chart, then you might want to consider taking extra precautions in the areas which are affected by these planets as shown in your natal chart.  Such people should avoid taking any kind of risk at any cost during this period.  Such conjunction can make things so miserable and difficult for you that most likely you are not going to forget them in your entire life. Staying low key is certainly the way to go.  Avoid any new ventures and postpone the matters that you want to begin till this period is passed. 

On a collective level, the United States of America, Russia or China may experience social or political turmoil at home as well as tensions rising among them. 

Pluto-Saturn ninefold trine (Jan 22-29)

If through your Gochar (transit) chart, either Pluto or Saturn is active and if Pluto is favorably positioned with respect to Saturn in your natal chart, expect a very favorable time during this period. Such a positive period will be related to the affairs signified by the houses these planets occupy or aspects. For example if the seventh house is involved, expect a new and positive development in a relationship, or business partnership, or success in capturing the audience if you deal with masses. If eleventh house is involved it may financially prove to be a very rewarding period.

On a collective level, this is a good period for European and Russian economy. This period is also good for progress in technical fields (new innovations and discoveries) and religious reconciliation.

Saturn-Rahu ninefold sextile (Saturn-Ketu ninefold trine)  (Jan 26-29)

Saturn-Rahu ninefold sextile is usually favorable for those who have lunar nodes favorably placed in their natal charts with respect to Saturn.  If such placing is connected to the first house, second house, ninth house, tenth house, or eleventh house then expect monetary as well as power gains, promotions and improved prestige in professional and social fields.  The idea that you always wanted to pursue your desired goals but somehow could never get started….now is the time to follow that dream. You will distinctly notice and feel the positive energy flowing through you during this period.  It’s time to jump in and enjoy this period.

Pluto-Rahu ninefold opposition (Jan 29 – Feb 3)

Unless these planets are favorably placed in your birth chart, such opposition or squares between Pluto and lunar nodes, in general, means drastic changes (transformations) pertaining to aspects of your life described by the houses they belong to. Usually such transformations are accompanied with severe pains if lunar node Rahu (or Ketu), and/or Pluto is active via your transit (Gochar) chart.  In my opinion, the best way to deal with this situation is to (which is not easy to do) accept it (the inevitable change), and move on with your life. There’s no point in brooding over it, and not letting your past go. Just believe that on long term basis, such changes are good for you.

On a collective level, an eruption of new waves of violence in the Palestine-Israel and Kashmir regions are likely. And perhaps, towards the end of this period due to Pluto’s transformation process, the resulting changes are likely to become irreversible. In addition, world religions in general, and religious leaders in particular, may experience themselves having to go through crisis that demand changes. In other words, the orthodox religious leaders may come under social and moral pressures to change the way they handle their responsibilities.
